There were several moments during the purchase of our home when we were biting our nails, and at each point his calm professionalism and realistic assessment of the mechanics of wheeling-and-dealing worked well for us. Because he went the extra distance, we were able to have the sellers accept our offer, even after the seller’s real estate agent basically gave us the message that the sellers (bank owned) would not be interested in dealing with the FHA program. When we found things that needed to be fixed in the home, we were able to negotiate a lower price and got a better adjustment than we anticipated.
