Are there any new developments or trends in your area?
In my market area, buyer representation was something that was pretty uncommon when I started in real estate. I have had the opportunity to educate myself and become certified as a buyer representation specialist and have taken several classes and received significant training in this area of real estate. I think that as buyers become more educated on the benefits of being represented in a transaction, buyer representation will become more common in this market.
Why do you enjoy being a real estate agent?
How many people get to help people achieve lifetime goals and dreams, and earn a living doing so?! That's why I love my career!
What is the most challenging issue you face as a Real Estate Professional?
The challenges in my profession are part of what makes it so great! There are never 2 transactions or clients that are the same, and I love thinking on my feet and finding solutions when something comes up!
Tell us one of your client success stories or an interesting moment in your profession.
One of my favorites is the day that I closed on a home with a couple that had been looking for 1 1/2 years before they found me. They hadn't had a good experience with the previous agent they had been working with, and once we began looking for their dream, they couldn't believe how fun it was. The day we closed on the house, she just kept crying and telling me thank you and how much she appreciated everything that I had done for her. There is nothing better than that in my profession!
What is your best characteristic?
I believe that the only way to build my business is by forming relationships with the people that I work with. The key way to do this is by being honest, and I pride myself on this. I also focus on customer service first and foremost, and by doing little things better than most I am able to exceed people's expectations.
Who or what inspires you the most?
I would have to say that my children inspire me the most, for so many reasons! They make me see the world in a different view, and they are a constant reminder of how giving unconditionally is its own reward. They are always proud of me, and the things that I achieve, and that's pretty inspiring!
What is the best advice you ever received?
I had a very wise grandfather that would always tell me that can't means you don't want to! If you really wanted to, you would work hard to find a way to do it! I believe this to be so true, and I always work hard to find a way to get things accomplished. I also believe in living by the "Platinum Rule", which is to treat others BETTER than you expect to be treated.
If you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be?
It really wouldn't matter where I lived, as long as I am near my children! It would be great if that happened to be somewhere that has a warm climate year round, though.
