What year did you become a real estate agent?
2003
How many years have you been in Real Estate?
I've been in real estate for 4 years and in sales for over 15 years.
What is the average home price in your market?
$525K to $550K
Are there any new developments or trends in your area?
There are a ton of new townhouse developments and new construction condos. People want to live in urban locations, close to the city center.
Why do you enjoy being a real estate agent?
I love the diversity of the work and the challenge of negotiating each deal. I am definitely a "people person" and I really enjoy the relationships that I develop with each of my clients.
Seattle is a rich community that attracts intelligent, creative, outdoor minded folks which makes my job a lot of fun.
What is the most challenging issue you face as a Real Estate Professional?
Finding time for myself and my personal life.
Tell us one of your client success stories or an interesting moment in your profession.
Two years ago one of my past clients referred their friends to me. They were first time home buyers and really wanted to live in a neighborhood I was pretty sure they couldn't afford. At our first meeting, they acknowledged that they probably wouldn't find a house in their price range or, if they did, it would probably be pink. We all chuckled.
It was mid December and few realtors in my office were working. After I met with my new clients, I went up into the office resource room and overheard an agent talking about a house she was bringing on the market in the neighborhood that my clients were interested in. It was even in my clients price range. I asked if I could show my clients the house before it hit the market. At such a competitive price, I knew there would be multiple offers so I wanted a chance to get our ducks in a row. We did a pre-inspsect and wrote a nice letter to the seller. The seller received 4 offers. We weren't the highest offer, but the seller chose us because our offer had fewer contingencies, was written well and we wrote a nice letter. My clients were so excited! The house was perfect and the house was PINK. They loved it. It was the first and only house I ever showed them.
What is your best characteristic?
I excel at finding the right fit for my clients needs. I am an excellent listener and a tough, but fair, negotiator.
Who or what inspires you the most?
I am inspired by ideas, by people who create, people who help others, people who seize the moment, people who rise to the occasion no matter the circumstance.
What is the best advice you ever received?
It's okay to make mistakes, that's how you learn.
If you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be?
Seattle. I love it here. I was born here and have travelled all over the world; France, Italy, Fiji, the Carribean, Hawaii, Thailand, Greece, the Bahamas, Holland, Germany, Austria, all over the US and Canada... and still, I wouldn't want to live anywhere else.
