"This is only the second home purchase I've ever made and Lori Clark, with American Dream Real Estate, was absolutely the best. She was comfortable with me taking my time in looking at several places and then just me taking whatever time I needed to think about making a purchase. She was never pushy or tried to get me into a place that was more expensive, but just kept saying when it's right I would know it and I would be able to figure out which place is the right one by paying attention to which one my thoughts continued to go back to. Buying a place has it's level of stress, but Lori was always a voice of reason and was able to help keep me focused. Thanks Lori for everything. "Lori is a wonderful agent to work with! From day one, I can honestly say that she had our best interest at heart. My wife and I actually purchased our very first home in 2006 with her as our Agent and I couldn't have asked for a more understanding and helpful person to work with. I swear, we had a million questions! We also hired her again as our listing Agent in 2008 - she helped us get our home ready to show, held many open houses and was on top of getting our home sold - even in a tough market! One of the most impressive things we noticed about Lori is that she has experience all over Skagit County and in other areas of Washington as well - we never felt stuck to one area. How many years have you been in Real Estate?
10 years as of April 09. I did however take a break about 7 years ago for a short time.

What is the average home price in your market?
As of 2/19/09 there are 243 residential listings in the Anacortes area. The median price is $396,000

Are there any new developments or trends in your area?
Anacortes is a relatively small town surrounded by the Puget Sound along with seven lakes. With the increase in new condo and home communities we have something for everyone to enjoy.

Why do you enjoy being a real estate agent?
I love helping clients achieve the American Dream of homeownership!

What is the most challenging issue you face as a Real Estate Professional?
Finding new and creative ways to stay on top in an ever changing market.

Tell us one of your client success stories or an interesting moment in your profession.
I wrote up a purchase & sale (p&s) agreement. The buyer I was working with wanted the sellers' dog to stay with the home he was purchasing. Fortunately the sellers were unable to take the dog with them. The buyer got the dog and the dog didn't have to pack his doggie bag and relocate.

What is your best characteristic?
I listen!!! It's always important to get to know your clients likes and dislikes; what's important to them. Whether your working for the seller or the buyer you've got to listen.

Who or what inspires you the most?
People who never quit, regardless of what they might be going through.

What is the best advice you ever received?
Never say never and can't! Also, if you don't know - ask. Persevere.

If you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be?
Anacortes, Washington...of course!
