Dear Mr. Evans, I am just finishing the paperwork attendant to the purchase of a new home in Williamsburg. And, as I reflect over the process, I believe this is a good time to pass on some thoughts and impressions we have concerning your Sales Associate, Laura Chapman. As an old “geezer” who has moved some 16 times, my wife and I have come in contact with a number of realtors over the past 40 plus years. We can state unequivocally that Laura Chapman is the best Real Estate salesperson that we have ever dealt with. That is a strong statement – but we really mean it. I am sure her principal attributes are well known to you: intelligent, perceptive, professionalism, sensitive as well as exhibiting a friendly, positive, “can-do” attitude. On the way home we concluded that if we purchased a home in Williamsburg, Laura Chapman would be the person with whom we wanted to work. We returned to purchase a home only a short time ago. Each of the houses she showed us possessed the main characteristics of what we were looking for—it was clear that she had listened closely and understood our likes and dislikes. Ultimately, we decided to build a house. As you well know, this involves considerably more negotiation. Our respect for Laura grew and grew as we faced each of the many decisions that must be made and agreed to. Her knowledge of the process and her attention to detail was excellent. She was particularly adept at smoothing over the “rough spots” that inevitably occur in the negotiation process. Most importantly she was able to secure a purchase price that we were happy with. We first contacted Laura when we were just thinking about possibly/maybe/theoretically buying some land in Williamsburg to build a house on later. One of the things we loved about her from the get-go was that she was a no pressure, no problem kind of person. She didn't try a 'hard sell' approach, she was just helpful and friendly while we tried to make up our minds. When we did decide to buy in Williamsburg, she was an expert researcher and a top-notch stiff negotiator for us. She knew about all of the neighborhoods, all of the ins-and-outs, any questions we had, she had the answers. With bidding and negotiating, she gave us support and info, while presenting a strong front to the sellers, even when we waffled. Through all the difficulties, she hung in there with us until we found our dream lot, two blocks from the historic area, and we only paid the assessed value! She's great, can't say enough about her! When we build our house, she'll be one of the first people we invite!
