Great Selling Experience

Doug helped us with the sale of a rental property. Because we now live out of the DC area, it was very important to find a great agent who could really get things done. Doug went above and beyond the call of duty. I strongly recommend Doug, especially when it comes homes in Vienna, VA.

I have known Doug for over 10 years and during that time he has helped us sell a home, rent a home and purchase two homes. Neither of the purchases were "easy" and I am NOT an easy client. I am picky. For our first house purchase, Doug patiently took me to 50+ homes (pre-intranet)over the course of a year and NEVER complained. Once I settled on my dream home it was held by a relocation company in California. Doug was instrumental in guiding us on giving a fair offer, getting the offer ratified and settled quickly. Our second purchase was for a foreclosed property. It was a nightmare! But Doug helped us maneuver the vast amount of foreclosure documents, get the contract signed and closed. He is a remarkable agent, very professional, knowledgeable, and extremely reliable. He responded to all our numerous calls/e-mails the same day, kept us in the loop, and helped us get financing/inspections/warranties/lawyers, quickly which was vital as we closed on the foreclosed property within 30 days. His vast experience has made him very calm, patient and completely unflappable. Buying/selling a house is stressful and I would never complete a real estate transaction without Doug's infinite experience to guide us through the process.






Great Buying Experience

My husband and I recently purchased a home with Doug. We are first time home buyers and having Doug by our side was a plus as he is extremely knowledgeable about the field. His experience shows. It took us almost a year to find our home, but Doug was very patient with us throughout. He was always available to see homes on very short notice and usually had good comments to offer. Doug is very easy to talk to and pleasant to work with. He is very tech savvy as well, and was very responsive to our e-mails and calls. He also went out of his way to help us out when we needed him after we purchased the house, which is something most agents probably wouldn't do. We would highly recommend Doug to anyone looking to buy a home in the Northern Virginia area.






Wonderful Selling Experience

Doug did an amazing job selling my condo in Fairfax. During our initial meeting he helped put together a to-do list (fresh paint & carpet made the place look like new.) As soon as we finished with the facelift, Doug took a full set of nicely framed and well-lit photos and had the listing online in a matter of days. After only four days on the market I accepted a contract for 99% of list price! Even after the contract was signed, I can't say enough for all of the little things Doug took care of before closing. We settled by the end of the month saving me another house payment. I would happily work with Doug again to buy or sell a home. Thanks Doug!

Why do you enjoy being a real estate agent?
I find it interesting because no two clients, no two houses and no two transactions are alike. There is always a lot to manage and my clients are always surprised how much is going on during a real estate sales transaction. It keeps it interesting and I know that my job is really helping them achieve a big goal.
What is the most challenging issue you face as a Real Estate Professional?
Currently, it has to be helping clients get through the financing part of the transaction since mortgage companies are asking for more documentation from the home buyers and the home sellers. These are time sensitive issues that impact all parties involved, so I am often managing all parties to achieve the common goal.
Tell us one of your client success stories or an interesting moment in your profession.
I like to put these on my blog, so you may find a few interesting and humorous ones there. The Northern Virginia real estate business generates interesting stories every day, so a success can be negotiating a sales contract for a first time buyer, helping a couple sell their home to retire in North Carolina, helping a client understand complex land title issues, or handing someone the keys to their new home.
What is your best characteristic?
I consider myself to be upbeat, have a sense of humor, communicate well, able to find solutions, makes decisions quickly, and stay professional and comfortable in tense situations.
Who or what inspires you the most?
Right now, that would be my kids.
What is the best advice you ever received?
In real estate? Be reasonable and go the extra yard.
If you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be?
I like where I am in Vienna VA, but I grew up near the ocean so it would be someplace in New England with an ocean view, close to a beach and place for a sailboat.
