15

Are there any new developments or trends in your area?
I live in Maple Grove Subdivision in Powhatan which is a Reeds Landing Development. They are adding roughly 110 custom homes over th next 10 years. There are a number of Newer Subdivisions going up that have price ranges that fit every income level.
Why do you enjoy being a real estate agent?
I like people. I find great satisfaction in assisting first time homebuyers.
What is the most challenging issue you face as a Real Estate Professional?
The most challenging issues are the large amount of foreclosures and short sales competing with normal sales. The other issues are constant changes in Mortgages. Luckily, I was a National Award Winning Loan Officer for the last 15 years. This allows me to always find the lowest rates and programs for my Client. My wife who is a previous National Award Winning Branch manager, VP, and is now a Top Loan Officer with Village Bank Mortgage, can do it all. Thankfully she has Programs that no one else has, Such as 100% Mortgages for Doctors that does not count there student loans into their debt ratios. 102% USDA Loan, FHA,100% VA, VHDA, Rehab, 203K, Constuction, Commercial, SBA, etc. Village Bank Mortgage even has their own Grant Money for Down Payment Assistance. Working with her as a team is a Godsend.
Tell us one of your client success stories or an interesting moment in your profession.
Over the years we have had many people that were referred to us after their financing fell through with other Lenders or banks and we got them a Mortgage to buy their Home. It's a very emotional time for them.
What is your best characteristic?
Persistence and winning. After playing College Tennis and Rugby, I learned that Winning only comes with Persistence, Hard Work, and Practice.
Who or what inspires you the most?
My Family, God,Vince Lombardi, and a number of former GreenBay Packer Players that I hung out with when I was in College in GreenBay. Being born and raised in the GreenBay area you kind of have the Vince Lombardi Philosophy indoctrinated in to your life principals.
What is the best advice you ever received?
Never give up. Anything the mind can conceive the body can achieve.
If you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be?
I traveled all over the country as a sales Executive and Richmond, VA is the best place to live. In two hours I can be skiing in the mountains or in three hours I can be surf fishing on the ocean in front of my second home in Kitty Hawk, NC.
