Realtor David Sweet, of Virginia Homes, Inc., is extremely unprofessional. If you are considering renting from this man or his company, I recommend you look for better options. He would often call me to tell me that my roommate had not paid her rent, and threaten to evict us if I did not pay, all in the same conversation. The one time he claimed that I had not paid, while on the phone I looked up my bank statement and found the copy of the deposited check; when I told him this, he then claimed that he had just found it in the wrong pile in his office. Any report of a needed repair was met by an immediate blame claim. For these reasons and more, I advise you not to do business with David Sweet.

We just closed on our house with Ann as our realtor, and she was the best ally we could have asked for. She worked late into the night, always kept us informed (as first-time homebuyers), and never made us feel as if she was working for anything but our happiness. When working with Ann, we felt that the only thing that mattered was our needs and concerns being addressed. She also makes the effort to really get to know her clients and their personalities and lifestyles so she can help them find the best property and location for them. Working with her really was the best part of buying our house (until the day we got the keys, that is :) ).

Looked at properties in McLean, Arlington, Alexandria and Falls Church and Viennna. She was always very supportive of my interests and considered the details reqired by my family. She is personable reliable and very bright. She displayed the "Patience of Job" as we worked to make up our mind where we wanted to locate. She was familiar with the needs of the international and the diplomatic communities and she was considerate of our unique requirements. If I were running any kind of business I would want her on my team.

This agent forced me to sign an agreement to use her for 6 months before we even looked at a house. She repeatedly took me to homes I couldn't afford, were disgusting, or were not at all part of my criteria. She wasted so much of my time that I ran out of time and had to rent. She is unprofessional, a liar, and completely incompetent.

Jim has helped us buy 1) a new house under construction and 2) land for a second home. A former builder and developer and pioneer in the buyer-agent concept, he is the consummate professional -- the kind you want on your side. He's very methodical and tough-minded in advancing your interest yet completely warm and gracious while doing so -- not unlike the late Tim Russert on Meet the Press. (I remember sitting in the builder's on-site trailer with the builder and his Realtor. Jim sat there calmly ticking off what needed to be changed to finalize the contract. The other two just wanted to do the deal and be done. Smiling, Jim simply wouldn't agree until he got what we wanted.) He won't let a builder or another Realtor get the best of you. And you'll never have a doubt about where he stands -- it's always in your corner with your priorities coming first. He's the gold standard for integrity in real estate. (He also uses the best home inspector on the East Coast.)

Nancy is awesome. She is very personable and will work hard for you to sell you property and to find a new property. She sold our condo and found our new upgraded townhome. She found exactly what we wanted.
