- Why do you enjoy being a real estate agent?
- Gosh, I've been in the business so long and have helped so many "types" of familys choose and sell houses, that I've really learned about what the future may hold for a lot of them. It's great to be able to explain to a mom of young kids how a floorplan will work for them over the next 2-5 years and beyond. Or to be able to point out that the sloped driveway may not be best for learning to ride a bike. I've blogged about it on my site http://dfwmoves.com.
- What is the most challenging issue you face as a Real Estate Professional?
- Getting sellers to disconnect from the emotional side of selling their home is sometimes a challenge. They forget that what's right for them may not be right for everyone else. On the buyers side the biggest challenge is often getting them to see past a sellers choice of decor.
- Tell us one of your client success stories or an interesting moment in your profession.
- I had a great couple referred to me by a past client. Their home had been on the market for almost exactly a year. Several agents had had the home on the market, including the sellers father!! Of course the price had been reduced, and reduced, and reduced. I got the couple to make about $150.00 worth of fixes, worked with them to stage the house..... And it sold in one week for the higher original asking price. Too bad no other agent had worked with them to fix these small items in the first place. They lost a whole year, and could have lost a lot of money too.
- What is your best characteristic?
- I'm about as organized as anyone out there.
- Who or what inspires you the most?
- On a personal level I'm inspired most by people who don't let obsticles slow them down. In the field of real estate, I'm inspired by those buyers and sellers who face market facts and get on with it.
- What is the best advice you ever received?
- Location, location,location....
- If you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be?
- I think I'd like to live on ResidenSea, the floating condo ship that travels the world in search of fair weather and special international events like The Cannes Film Festival, Carnival in Rio and The Monaco Grand Prix! Wanna come with me?
