True professional

Delilah has taken care of our living needs for over 8 years for both rental and purchase. She is extremely thorough, and her market knowledge is unparalleled. She truly has our best interest at heart. As an example, she talked us out of properties that we were determined to pursue but she cautioned us to keep looking as they were overpriced or had dubious history. She has a high sense of whether a client's lifestyle fits the location and property.we will not make any property decisions without her!

ridiculous

Is she even a real person? I was never able to connect with her despite needing to move within the next month. I am very flexible, have perfect credit, have a stable job with a good income, etc., but Delilah wouldn't know this. No returned phone calls, no responses to email. Not worth the trouble. If there were a way to take a person's real estate license away, they should. I understand if her volume is large, but if she can't handle it, she needs to either work at a large agency or get outside help. I wouldn't be surprised if the five star reviews were plants. Don't waste your time; she is a failure.

Had second thoughts, but had an AMAZING experience

I read these reviews first before I met Delilah I instantly had a bad impression of McKenna Real Estate. However, after contacting this Realtor and working with her, she was simply professional, funny, and a trusting individual. She helped me find a beautiful studio apartment inside the Loop for an amazing price. She did this while balancing her clients. This was also during July 4th weekend, and under my specific requests of gated parking, security, etc. I HIGHLY recommend her to anyone. She will return calls if you are patient and realistic in your requests.

Terrible Work Ethics!!

I was advised to visit greatlandlords.com where I found many properties I was very interested in looking at... After trying numerous times to call Delilah McKenna and leaving several messages... one day she miraculously answered the phone! A miracle I thought, but then I realized she had answered the call by accident. She promised me up and down that she would call me back just as soon as possible. I NEVER heard from her again. I finally gave up and was very disheartened that I did not get to look at any of the fabulous apartments listed on greatlandlords.com :(

Does not respond to calls

When I came across greatlandlords.com I was excited because it profiled exactly the type of property I was looking for. I sent off several requests via email and received a bounce-back. No response. I then called every other day for a week. No response. I have a realistic budget and have left detailed messages. It is very frustrating. Every other real estate agent I have dealt with has at least returned an email or phone call. Can't understand an agent who doesn't return honest, realistic inquiries into the properties s/he lists.

Is she alive??

I've been trying to contact Delilah through the greatlandlords.com website for weeks...called, left detailed messages, and emailed. At first I wrote it off as she probably gets a ton of requests every day, but seriously this is her job and she should respond (other than a generic email, which is actually quite rude, telling me to keep calling and harrassing her). I've just given up on her. Other reviews here would suggest that she didn't respond to me because I was requesting unreasonable priced apartments when really I just wanted to see the ones that were on her site!!

Unprofessional & Incompetent

I did not choose to use Delilah, but was forced to as she was leasing a property I wanted. It is unfortunate, because the landlord is great. She does not return phone calls! I know for a fact that many properties she represents have been unleased for quite sometime. TO THE LANDLORDS...dump this agent. Your places could be leased by now if you found an agent who wasn't so lazy. By the time we finally got around to signing the lease, Delilah said she could only meet at her house or I would have to wait another week. Bizarre. But when I got there, I realized it was because nothing was ready, and I ended up waiting at her house for an hour while she prepared the agreements. Unprofessional. It is a shame she is the agent for some great places in Houston. But after that experience, I don't care how great the property is...I will look elsewhere.

Be Realistic

I have used Delilah in numerous transactions over the past 15 years. She has always led professionalism in the real estate rental market. In reading many of the other postings it appears that some of the unhappy clients want unrealistic service. Remember your realtor is not a magician. The perfect inner loop rental property does not cost $500 per month. If you maintain rational you will find Delilah to be excellent in her superior knowledge of the Inner Loop rental market.

Feels like a scam

Does this person exist? She sent some guy to meet us, he took our money for the application fee and that was the last we heard. He changed his number. We have good credit and we both have great incomes. We called her office and any other phone we could find for her, but she never answers. Many people have tried to rent that place that we wanted but it is still sitting there with no one in it. I guess they had the same issue with her. One review said she was knowlegeable, but what good is tha if she does not actually do her job. They didn't even run our credit...Can I have my money back?

Incompetent

Lack of communication, constant confusion, always out of touch, works with incompetent representatives who do not return calls. A gyp. Do not waste your time. She will rob you.

most knowledgeable agent inside the loop

I've worked with her for years and she knows more about the communities, buildings and owner/landlords that anybody in town.Obviously these people can't get help elswhere, why would they keep calling? If you know what you want, are credit worthy, you get help.Same in all businesses. These people need to have reasonable expectations. She's in business to pay her bills like anybody else.If you get 30-40 calls a day,you help who you can and move on.

horrible, horrible, horrible.

Extremely unprofessional, friends with the worst landlord known to mankind (Toyia Noons). Do not rent from them!!!!! EVER. Mold, bleach cover-up job, broken appliances, feral cats, fleas coming up through the drainage

She'll just ignore you if you take "too long" (mor

At first, I thought she was great - she met up with me, showed me several places, but since I don't do "look and lease" and I have to think about it, she started to ignore my calls. I think we only worked together for a week before she became increasingly difficult to contact. Also, when I had decided on a property, I told her on a Thursday that I would like to submit an application, she didn't tell the landlord until Saturday! And by then it was leased out! I ended up just finding a place on my own. She's also a bit scatter-brained and overwhelmed. She needs to not take so many customers if she can't handle them. Don't waste your time with her - she won't spend time on you.

Delilah McKenna does NOT deal with any "great land

I rented from Delilah McKenna, who I found from her "greatlandlords.com" website. She pressured me into signing a lease for an apartment by using scare tactics and repeatedly telling us that we had to make a decision *that instant* or the apartment would be gone, becuase she had 2 other people submitting applications for it. Turns out that when we moved in, the apartment wasn't FIT to live in! The main door couldn't shut properly, all electric sockets were open, all closet doors weren't installed yet, and burners were uninstalled in the stove. Secondly, the landlord - Toyia Noons - was hands down, the WORST landlord ever. Completely uncommunicative and unreachable, even when we had critical problems. Only thing Toyia knew to do was cash checks. As soon as Delilah had me sign the lease, she totally didn't care anymore, even though I brought up to her that her "great landlord" was a sham. Do yourself a favor and never ever believe what Delilah McKenna tells you.

Reinterating Unprofessionalism

Delilah maybe great at selling homes, but certainly not at leasing them. I have great credit and a healthy budget to work with (to respond to an earlier post) however no one at "greatlandlords.com" has bothered to contact me despite several emails and calls. I would agree that this website is a sham.

Great experience

I have known Delilah for years and have had nothing but good experiences. She helped me find a very cute little apartment last year! She is super busy so you just have to be patient and have reason reasonable expectations!

Sour Grapes!

I generally don't waste my time posting on complaint forums like these but after reading through many of the postings I just had to rebut. If you'll notice, almost everyone who posted a negative posting about Delilah McKenna has never even met the woman or worked with her as an agent. Almost without fail, the main complaint about her is that she is too busy to help every single sad sack that calls or emails her about one of her MANY in-town listings. Having worked with Delilah for many years as a client I can tell you that Delilah is probably the most successful leasing agents in the city of Houston--for one good reason: she doesn't waste her time with people who either cannot be helped (bad credit, no income) or have unrealistic expectations ("I want a cute, vintage, apartment in Montrose with hardwoods and central a/c and a washer and dryer--but my budget is only $600--oh, and did I mention I have a 50 lb dog?"). Click. Delete. Next. You can't help everyone--so why try?

Don't waste your time.

Lousy experience trying to work with Delilah. I had to call several times before she finally called back. It took a few weeks. When I finally got her on the phone, I asked about several properties on greatlandlords.com, and she told me then were already taken. That was several months ago, and those properties are still listed as "available" on the website today. I should have paid more attention to previous reviews. Instead, I decided to give her a try, and ended up wasting my time. Hopefully you won't do the same.

Excellent Agent with a Personal Touch

Delilah McKenna is a great agent! I had used her in the past for a couple of leases - both of which were great. Because of my past experience with leasing, I decided to use her during the sale of my townhouse and the purchase of my new home. I decided that I wanted to make all of this happen during the course of the summer which is incredibly fast - she made it happen! By the beginning of August she had sold my townhouse and I was living in my new home! She is running a boutique operation and is very busy at times, but if you are serious about your move and have realistic expectations in what you are looking for, she will make it happen for you. The bonuses of working with her are that you get great personalized service and she has an excellent knowledge of her area. As I have said, I have worked with her multiple times and always had a good experience. Highly recommended!

greatlandlords.com is a shady scheme

Apparently no property listed as available on www.greatlandlords.com is actually available. It's just a trick to get your business. She might have placed people at those locations once upon a time at those ridiculous prices, but DO NOT GET YOUR HOPES UP. I hope you don't waste your time with her either.

Update to review below

I just received a call from this agent explaining the situation with my requests. She did try to contact me but I was unable to be reached for some reason. Also, her father has been very sick and she has been out of time during this busy renting season. This realtor has many great properties available and is therefore very reasonable. Please call at least two time if you are serious about some of the listings but it helps to have a good and realistic idea about where you want to rent and how much you are willing to spend. Don't forget to include the high cost of electricity and oil and any other expenses that will come on top of your rent (internet, cable, pet deposits/rent, commuting costs). If you are moving from out of town please try researching and asking questions at the HAIF forum (Houston Architecture Info Forum). They mention Greatlandlords.com a few times and also give great advice on many different Houston communities. Most of the posters are professions in real estate.

www.greatlandlords.com is a sham

I am sooooo disappointed because I really liked the condos and apartments that I saw on this website. Unfortunately, the customer service is non-existent. I called sooo many times, left messages and send many, many emails but never heard anything back. I repeated my phone number several times and very clearly. Also, I only asked to see a few listings in a very specific area. That kind of request is supposed to be easy, so I hear. Anyway, don't use greatlandlords.com. Try to drive around, find the apartment/condo and see if there is another way to lease it. Good luck. Also, I don't recommend Olympus Nelson Property Management. They use a horrible subcontracted maintenance service. Nice guys but very sloppy.

Great experience with Delilah

Hi, I was returning to Houston and needed a place to rent fast. On my own, I was only able to see about 1 place per half-day. With Delilah's help, I viewed 6 properties in 2 hours and made my choice. She is personable, has access to a ton of properties that she is very familiar with--good when you have very specific requirements as I did, and takes care of the landlord-tenant business (credit check, rental forms, and so forth). She is also very busy and probably only a 1-person business. Good luck with your search.

Lack of Professionalism

Wish I would have read reviews before wasting my time. Deliah it'll catch up with you! Being arrogant and condesending will not get you anywhere! My agent had also warned me. Buyers/Lessors/Lesees BEWARE!!!

WORST REALTOR EVER

This lady thinks her time is so precious she will try her hardest to rush you to meet her within 15 minutes as if no one else but her has stuff going on. She shows so many places at once she cant even remember who is who and I turned in my application and she never even got back to me. I told her I really need to know if my application gets ahead of the people who have turned it in, finally i texted her, did someone get in the space and she says yesterday. she is a horrible realtor I dont know why people use her.

Amen!

I have had the exact same experience with McKenna Real Estate. This woman has a horrible reputation! I'm not sure exactly how she seems to have so many properties listed or why any reasonable landlord would use her. I have left several messages and have yet to receive a reply. I also got the condescending and extremely unprofessional stock email reply when I requested to view several properties. I don't think I've ever encountered such a complete lack of professionalism. DO NOT USE MCKENNA REAL ESTATE!!!!!!

IS there anybody In there?

Yah.. it's really unfortunate that she has so many listings on HAR because you will have ZERO chance of ever setting foot in one of them. I've emailed, called, used the HAR form letter... at least a dozen times over the past two weeks. I finally asked another agent to show me the property.. she got back to me that it had already been leased. Either this is true and ms Delilah is as diligent at updating her listings as she is responding to inquiries or My agent lied to me because she finally gave up on trying to contact Delilah to show it to me ( which I cant blame her, knowing Delilah) So Buyers... if you find your dream rental on HAR and Delilah McKenna is the agent.... Move on. Sellers... if you actually want to rent your property.. use an agent that wants to show it.. not this quack.

Totally unprofessional

Greatlandlords.com my a*s. They never EVER had the professionalism to call me back after 6 phone messages, and 6 e-mails over a period of 2 weeks. I got the very open letter email, when I requested to set up viewing appointments. The e-mail was very chastising and condescending, the very idea that a buisness would inform me,'if they can not help me, they won't return my call and FOCUS on those they can help, is unacceptable! Do not waste your time using them!

is this person even real?????

This person/company has to be a joke. I've never delt with someone SO unprofessional. Does NOT return phone calls (I left 7 messages on her cell and business phone numbers combined and included my call back number on every one!). I even left an email and got some generic greatlandlords.com response. Upon calling someone who I presume works for her (aka, woke up on the wrong side of the bed, Jackie), I was rudely told to call her back in an hour because she was at the car dealership. Really??? is this how you treat someone who is interested in several properties and has been calling for weeks?? I went out of my way to find other real estate agents to show me properties she has listed just because she never checks messages, picks up her phone, or calls people back. I don't even know why has a business or if it is even a REAL business!!! Obviously a one-woman show who is incompetent, inept, and CANNOT handle the job!
