- Why do you enjoy being a real estate agent?
- I enjoy the challenge of being a Realtor. I sell all types of homes as well as commercial property, so every day poses a new question and a new client.
- What is the most challenging issue you face as a Real Estate Professional?
- As a Realtor the most challenging issue I face is keeping up with the market. A Realtor must be aware of what the market is doing so they can educate their client.
- Tell us one of your client success stories or an interesting moment in your profession.
- I met this young couple who wanted to buy an investment property. We looked and looked while I educated them and they were getting an idea of what they wanted. On a fluke I showed them a fourplex that had been on the market for quite some time. It was a little beat up and only two units were rented. They were very adventurous and ended up making a rediculous offer, which was accepted. They took this somewhat beat up four plex, spent a few thousand dollars fixing it up and we put it back on the market. The timing was great! We priced it at the top of the market and they sold it, making a very nice profit. Now, this is probably the best flip I have ever been involved with. They were very fortunate that the seller was ready to get rid of the property, the repairs were minor and the market turned quickly to be in their favor. The thing to take away from this is to be looking, get educated about the market, be ready to buy, and when you're ready, GO FOR IT. And don't forget to call Barry Hinshaw, your Realtor.
- What is your best characteristic?
- I would say that my best characteristic is that I really like to help my clients. I like to educate, answer questions, show options, help with lenders, get them into as many properties as it takes for them to be comfortable with a purchase.
- Who or what inspires you the most?
- I have had great real estate roll models. My Mother and Grandfathers were both Realtors. My Broker has been a great influence and has really taught me that doing things the right way, every time, will keep my clients happy, the referals coming in and my future successful.
- What is the best advice you ever received?
- The best advice I ever received is a saying that has really stuck. "Do it right, and do it right now."
- If you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be?
- I love living in good ol' Killeen, Texas, but that's a cop out. If I could really live anywhere I wanted it would be all over. I wouldn't want to hang my hat anywhere, travel, travel, travel. However, I have always thought that how things are, where you are, is how you make them. Write your own lines, put on that smile and make your world they way you want it.
