Interview
- What year did you become a real estate agent?
- 2010
- What is the average home price in your market?
- 201,000.00
- Why do you enjoy being a real estate agent?
- It is a great opportunity to combine real estate and technology - two of the things I love most in my career! I love working with buyers and sellers alike - the satisfaction of finding a home for a buyer - or selling a home for a client needs no words at all. Buying and selling properties can be a nightmare to some - to many actually. But each time I am at the closing table, and I see the smiles on both sides - I know I am doing the best that I can do at a job I dearly love.
- What is the most challenging issue you face as a Real Estate Professional?
- Lending. Lending. Lending. Over the last 2 years, lending has become a HUGE challenge. Not just for the buyers and sellers, but agent's as well. Trying to stay up with the never-ending changes and modifications is a task, but a necessary one. My clients expect this knowledge of me - and I expect it of myself.
- Tell us one of your client success stories or an interesting moment in your profession.
- I have had several actually. Some very funny moments, scary moments, heart-filled moments, but I like the funny ones the best. I was showing this lady one day - and she got a call from her sister who had just moved here from a northern state. She called explaining that her neighbor at her previous location said that they would look out for their cat who went missing on the day the movers came. When the neighbor found the cat, he went out of his way to return the cat by driving across the states to Texas. During the drive, the cat was absolutely out of control - tearing up the seats and flying around like a wild cat. Finally, after a couple of days - many long hours, the neighbor arrives at the new home in Texas. The neighbor goes to the door with the cat - with extreme pride, only to find out to the sellers dismay, yep.. not her cat. It was a wild cat.
- What is your best characteristic?
- Listening. That is the key in my job - whether a buyer or seller - it is my job to listen to the needs, wants, desires, expectations, goals, etc. of each client. Without that, I would not be where I am today.
- Who or what inspires you the most?
- My mother and father. They have been active agents in our community for 30 years. If ever I have a question, they are there to guide me toward the answer. People always think that because my parents are in the business - it was easy for me. WRONG! My parents are the most ethical, professional people around - with high expectations. I learned from the best to say the least!
- What is the best advice you ever received?
- Always do what is right and in the end, all things will be O.K.
- If you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be?
- MMM.. right here? I have lived all over the world - Japan, California, Utah, the Carolina's and more.. but .. in the end, I found Texas to be home.
