Lazy Landlord
I do not recommend R.L Struhall... after living there for almost 6 years... only because it was the only thing I could afford at the time, I went through a series of events where any maintenance work orders were ignored. It got to the point where my brother would come over to fix minor repairs... I was a single parent and yes their rent was cheap at the time. After being there 6 years, my tolerance level just couldn't take anymore of the laziness and rudeness from the office staff and maintenance people, I finally moved out only to be hit with a civil law suit for "damaged carpet", which already looked 10 years old when I moved in the duplex; my normal wear and tear gave them a reason to sue me for not wanting to pay for "replacing damaged carpet"; also for repainting the walls, which to me was an improvement to the hell hole I moved into. I'm sure if COA Code Enforcers visited all of Struhall properties, they would be cited.
Very responsive and understanding
Very fast at fixing problems.
Seen it
I have not personally rented or purchased any property from this particular realtor, I have had first hand contact with the property described in the previous review. The duplex is in serious need of major repairs and in violation of several city ordinances. The tenants attempted several times to contact the landlord in order to correct the problems with their home, but the landlord was unresponsive to them and dismissed their concerns. Now, this place is infested with mold and presents a serious health hazard to any future tenant. I believe black mold problems actually requires the Environmental Protection Agency to oversee the removal and the housing should be ruled unfit for humans until the mold has been completely eliminated. R.L. Struhall's utter disregard to the health and welfare of their tenants shows a complete lack of ethics. The tenant's are entitled to reimbursement of their rent, damages to their property, and additional monetary compensation for pain and suffering.
slum lords
My roommate and I rented a duplex from R.L.Struhall for about a year and a half. They were VERY slow to fix problems around the house: Our water heater went out in the middle of January and they treated us like "silly girls" who couldn't re-light the flame. It took nearly 2 weeks for them to finally replace it. A few months later, they terminated our lease after we discovered a major plumbing problem that had led to water under the house and caused mildew and mold growth under the carpet in a bedroom and closet. The next day there was a "For Rent" sign in the front yard. They have never given us a reason for terminating our lease. They will not respond to us about personal property that was damaged because of the mildew and mold. I would never recommend R.L. Struhall as a landlord to anyone, ever. It has been a nightmare to deal with them.
