"Nancy did a wonderful job in assisting me with buying a house. She was able to determine quickly which properties were well suited and those that were not. Her knowledge of house construction was invaluable, as she was able to spot issues with houses that I would not have appreciated. Her ability to work with less-than-stellar agents (representing the other party) also made the transaction as pain free as possible. Her recommendations for people to use during the transaction and after (contractors) were very good. After the sale, she contacted me the day after severe storm to check on how my property faired and provided a names of contractors that could help. I was pleasantly surprised by this service after the sale. I would highly recommend Nancy to anyone."

What year did you become a real estate agent?
1992
How many years have you been in Real Estate?
15 years
What is the average home price in your market?
$220,000
Are there any new developments or trends in your area?
Yes, there are many submarkets in the Austin market and each of them behaves differently. Looking at statistics for the Austin market as a whole can be very misleading.
Why do you enjoy being a real estate agent?
The opportunity to meet and get to know an extremely diverse group of people from all over the country and the world.
What is the most challenging issue you face as a Real Estate Professional?
The general lack of public understanding of what a real estate agent really does. Many people think that all we do is help locate properties and fill out paperwork. The process of buying and/or selling a house is very complicated and there are many opportunities for problems to arise. My job is to anticipate potential problems, prevent most of them and help work through the problems that do occur.
Tell us one of your client success stories or an interesting moment in your profession.
When I was new in the business, the only listings I could get were little inexpensive rental properties that no one else wanted. To my surprise, working with the inexpensive rental properties is what opened the door to my listing and selling unique high-end properties. The lesson I learned was that every client deserves good service irrespective of price range.
What is your best characteristic?
Patience and the ability to problem solve.
Who or what inspires you the most?
The 2nd broker I worked for in NC.
What is the best advice you ever received?
If the behavior you are observing does not seem to make sense, you are missing some essential piece of information.
If you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be?
Right here in Austin.
