Company move to Austin

Tom and his team are wonderful!!!! My wife and I flew into Austin with only 3 days to find a home for an upcoming company move. In the weeks prior to our trip, Tom began emailing us listings and talking with us about the many areas in and around Austin. From the moment we landed Tom began showing us neighborhoods. From Dripping Springs to Round Rock, we covered over 500 miles in 3 days looking at properties. Tom’s knowledge of the neighborhoods, schools and traffic patterns for commuting to work helped us accomplish the impossible. I love combining my skills and interests to help people find the perfect home at the best price. My background is in finance and I believe in doing the numbers, plus I love architecture so it's great to connect people with a beautiful home that perfectly fits their needs.
What is the most challenging issue you face as a Real Estate Professional?
Sometimes it can be challenging to match perception/expectation to reality. In this market, people often approach buying a home either with the assumption that they are going to get a STEAL or that there will be tons of inventory that match their criteria. There are definitely deals out there, but in the Austin market, more often I find that nice homes in desirable areas are going fast.
Tell us one of your client success stories or an interesting moment in your profession.
One of my first clients when I was just getting started in real estate wound up having to relocate out of state before buying a home in Austin. But she has remained a friend of mine and my wife's, and through her referrals I've met several other clients, all of whom have also become friends. Building those connections is so rewarding!
What is your best characteristic?
I think my best characteristic is being able to maintain a sense of humor along with professionalism and focus on the goal. For me it, it's critical that each deal is given the attention it deserves and that each client gets executive service, but that we also have a little fun in the process.
Who or what inspires you the most?
Everyone has some challenge they have overcome - the key is just to be aware and start to cultivate thankfulness.
What is the best advice you ever received?
Be on time and always carry a pen.
If you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be?
I love to travel, and my wife and I lived in Europe during graduate school, and then in the San Francisco Bay area for several years where I worked in investment banking. But Austin is home - it is such a great city!
