What year did you become a real estate agent?
The agent has not answered this question.
How many years have you been in Real Estate?
This is my third year to be licensed; however, my husband and I have bought and sold(flipped houses
What is the average home price in your market?
Average home price for middle Tennessee hoovers around $250,000 for the overall area.
Are there any new developments or trends in your area?
The current trend towards urban or midtown living is very strong in Nashville. Many new high rises are emerging with strong sales. Much of the younger market is leaning towards this type of living. It is very exciting to see Nashville change this way.
Why do you enjoy being a real estate agent?
I truly enjoy helping someone in the homebuying process. The services I provide are real and the people I serve feel satisfied. It is fun getting to know my clients. By the time the process is over, I feel as if I have a new friend. I really feel as if I am making a difference in people's lives.
What is the most challenging issue you face as a Real Estate Professional?
I would say there are two challenging issues that I face. The first one is as a seller's (listing) agent. Helping people recognize the market value of their home and the small things that they can do for their home to help increase the perceived value without insulting anyone's taste, etc can be very challlenging. People love their homes and homes are a very personal piece of property that sometimes sellers have a hard time seeing objectively. It is my job to present the facts of the market. As a buyer's agent, the challenging issue that I sometimes face is a credit issue. Helping people understand how credit works and how it affects their rates and ability to purchase can be very tricky. Thankfully, I have been able to overcome this issue by maintaining good relationships with various lenders. My objective is to help my clients buy or sell a home. I always try and keep my goal in front of me and evaluate if I am best meeting my clients needs.
Tell us one of your client success stories or an interesting moment in your profession.
Every closing is a success story; however, first time homebuyers are very gratifying. They are so excited and it is very fun to work with them. My most recent success story involves a couple who had a good income but poor credit scores due to some past illness. Through a lot of hard work on everyone's part, we got them to the closing table and they were able to puchase over a half-million dollar home. It was the toughest situation all the way around in every aspect that I have worked with; however, it was gratifying to see their family back in their own home again.
What is your best characteristic?
I am very observant and really listen. Because of this I can very quickly determine the type of house that a buyer is seeking sometimes before they figure it out themselves. In addition, I am a Native Nashvillian. I know this city inside which helps me really know the market and get a buyer in a house that will best suit them.
Who or what inspires you the most?
Whether it be relocating, a credit issue, a quick sale of a home, a recent divorce or death, helping people minimize the stress of moving and being a friend in the process makes me feel as if I have done a great service for someone.
What is the best advice you ever received?
The best advice I have received is to not focus on the negatives in life. There will be always someone who is trying to be negative. Instead, turn your back and face the positive and focus on the good.
If you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be?
I would live right where I am now; however, a second beach home would be nice too.
