What year did you become a real estate agent?
2006
How many years have you been in Real Estate?
3
What is the average home price in your market?
$165,000
Are there any new developments or trends in your area?
In the Greater Pittsburgh market there seem to be two main trends: First we have buyers moving from Allegheny County into Butler County to take advantage of the lower taxes. Second there are buyers that want to live in a downtown environment that find Pittsburgh’s downtown redevelopment very appealing.
Why do you enjoy being a real estate agent?
I love being a real estate agent because I truly enjoy working with people. There is nothing more fulfilling than listening to a client’s wants and turning them into a reality.
What is the most challenging issue you face as a Real Estate Professional?
Right now the most challenging issue I am personally facing is other people’s outlook on the real estate market. I work in one of the most solid markets in the country. When other markets (the markets that are now in trouble) were seeing increases of 20, 30, 40% Pittsburgh was slowly increasing by 2, 3, and on a great year 5%. The average person can afford to buy here.
Let’s talk about financing… The only buyers that can’t get financing are the buyers that shouldn’t have been financed before. If you have good credit and can afford the payment you will very likely be able to get a mortgage here.
To be completely honest if people would turn off the TV, look around, and form their own, educated opinion on things they would see that real estate remains one of the best investments available.
Tell us one of your client success stories or an interesting moment in your profession.
One of the things I am most successful at is taking homes that others have not been able to sell, making a few changes and selling them with in a very short period of time.
What is your best characteristic?
Responsiveness. I always ask to be contacted directly on my cell phone. I have a great secretary; however I want my clients to talk directly to me. If you do reach my voicemail you will hear back with in an hour. If you have a question or comment in the middle of the night I am available when other agents are not. If you ask a question on one of my sites online you will have a response with in 5 minutes.
Who or what inspires you the most?
The look on the face of my clients at the closing table is very inspirational to me. It can’t be explained, but it is very powerful.
What is the best advice you ever received?
The best way to build or destroy your business is through you clients.
I have had the good fortune to have many of my past clients refer their family and friends to me.
If you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be?
I’m thinking I could use some sun, warmth, and blue skies in my life so if it matches that description I’m in.
