- Why do you enjoy being a real estate agent?
- I found purchasing my first home (much later in life than many people) to be one of the most empowering things I had ever done. I really enjoy helping people realize their goals.
- What is the most challenging issue you face as a Real Estate Professional?
- My biggest challenge is keeping my clients up to date on market changes and providing them with all the information they need to make educated real estate decisions.
- Tell us one of your client success stories or an interesting moment in your profession.
- I had a terrific young man named Joe, who contacted me from out of state. He wanted to live in a particular small neighborhood near my office. His work kept him hopping around the west coast for two years before he finally came to Portland to meet in person. We looked at several homes over a period of a few weeks, not all of them in the desired location. We even put in an offer on one that was a couple miles from his desired location. The market was very hot at that moment and another offer was accepted by the sellers. Not too long afterward I found the PERFECT house, in his price range, in EXACTLY the location he desired. His offer was accepted and he really loves his home. Patience and constant contact have paid off with a wonderful business relationship.
- What is your best characteristic?
- I think my best characteristic is my willingness to keep learning new information and to learn new ways of listening to my clients. Communication is so important since clear communication enhances trust.
- Who or what inspires you the most?
- I am so inspired by people who are willing to work toward their dreams, whether it is a new home, or a vacation, or singing lessons, or learning to sew. I love to be around people who will stretch and grow in any area of life.
- What is the best advice you ever received?
- To zip my lip and listen to people. I love to talk and I have to always be mindful. I can gain so much information by letting people tell me what they care about and what their passion is. Our homes are a significant expressions of who we are and what value.
- If you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be?
- I would live at my house! I love my exact home and family as it is today. I love to travel and can't think of a place I would not be interested in visiting, but I want to come back home right here where I live!
