As an active licensed Broker in Oregon with over 17 years in the Real Estate industry I've worked both the Portland Metro Area down thru the I-5 corridor to the Great Willamette Valley. I started my real estate career by gaining a unique perspective of the Real Estate market. Working full-time as an assistant to many Top Producing Brokers, I quickly learned firsthand all the intricacies of the business, from working leads to closing deals. As an agent, I greatly benefited from this experience. I have years of experience in both mega cities, Portland and Salem. Always energetic and ready to go, I decided to conquer as many aspects of real estate as possible. I began my career as a Broker cold calling expired listings. I became very successful at selling properties that other listed Brokers were not able to sell and had been on the market many months and some even years. I quickly gained a reputation for selling difficult properties.

Agent Par Excellence!

I am an investor with a dozen properties around Salem. Over the last year I have had the privilege of working with Valerie Hammack, a realtor par excellence. Last summer she caught my eye by selling a home down the street from a house I was flipping, to a buyer from California. I asked her how she found an out-of-state buyer. Valerie said that certain properties appeal to Californians and that she specifically markets in that region. Her marketing prowess impressed me enough to have her list several of my properties for sale. Despite a buyers market and the fact that my properties were occupied with tenants (read; dirty houses that didn’t show well), she was able to find a buyer for one of the properties within a short time. I only needed to sell one. Or she would have sold all of the properties if I had given her more time. She brought to my attention a tri-plex that had a good positive cash flow (important to an investor). I made an offer and closed on the properly quickly.

In this tough market we had 2 offers, both full price. It took 4 months from the time we purchased, listed and sold! We made $40,000 with Valerie! She is the best.

What is the most challenging issue you face as a Real Estate Professional?
The most challenging issues currently in real estate is finding lending programs that work for not only buyers but also sellers. We as Realtors need to keep on top of lending programs that will work with a unique property.
Tell us one of your client success stories or an interesting moment in your profession.
My favorite success story was a client who was going through divorce and felt she would not be able to sell her home due to needed repairs, lending issues and months from foreclosure. The seller had been told by her spouse she couldn’t do it. We did and she learned she could do whatever she set her mind to doing. Later she sent me a note telling me she had relocated out of state and was working as an airline stewardess. She felt the sale of her home had empowered her to reach for dreams she once had.

Honesty and the ability to work hard.
Who or what inspires you the most?
My clients often inspire me. I've been fortunate in that I have great clients.

Don't burn bridges.
