Last summer she caught my eye by selling a home down the street from a house I was flipping, to a buyer from California. I asked her how she found an out-of-state buyer. Valerie said that certain properties appeal to Californians and that she specifically markets in that region. Are there any new developments or trends in your area?
There are more buyers in the market now than there has been in the last 16 months. The market has taken an upward turn since March 15th.
Why do you enjoy being a real estate agent?
I love being a realtor! There is nothing better than to be sitting at a closing table across from my Seller's or Buyer's watching the tears of joy and hearing them say "I can't believe WE are here!" The first time my Seller cried at a closing I asked if he was sad to be leaving his home; he said "NO, I can't believe you did it!"
What is the most challenging issue you face as a Real Estate Professional?
The most challenging issue I face is getting a client to understand price.
Tell us one of your client success stories or an interesting moment in your profession.
I often list properties other agents were not able to get under contract. I enjoy when I'm the 2nd or 3rd agent and we go under contract quickly, due to the market plan I've put in place. It's not always about price. Many times my clients can tell me what I can see in a listing that went wrong.
What is your best characteristic?
I am creative and hard working!
Who or what inspires you the most?
Mahatma Gandhi and my parents. My father was a life insurance salesman. I will always remember him and how he valued his clients.
What is the best advice you ever received?
Never say, "I don't know", say "I will get back to you with an answer".
If you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be?
I would live where I live now. I couldn't imagine living away from my family.
