How many years have you been in Real Estate?: 16 Years
What is the average home price in your market?: The average price home in our area is $216,400.
Why do you enjoy being a real estate agent?: I enjoy being a realtor because you have a lot of flexibility and you are in control of your own business. You make your own schedule which allows you to attend important events, family gatherings and participate in your children�s school events.
What is the most challenging issue you face as a Real Estate Professional?: Real estate is challenging in many ways, you constantly have to stay in touch with your clientele which is difficult if you have a large referral base. Real estate has changed a lot in the past few years, keeping up with current trends like short sales and foreclosures along with changes in lending practices is difficult.
Tell us one of your client success stories or an interesting moment in your profession.: Selling real estate presents a lot of opportunities for success, I have helped a lot of first time home buyers find homes which is very rewarding. I am currently helping a couple purchase my husbands grandparents farm which has been very challenging but I know they are the right people for this property and I know they will be ecstatic at the conclusion.
What is your best characteristic?: My best characteristics are patience and perseverance. Real estate requires both of these, in huge quantities. I never give up on trying to put a sale together, being a great problem solver in this difficult market is an incredible asset as well. Honesty is also a very important quality in a great realtor.
Who or what inspires you the most?: My family is my greatest inspiration. I love spending time with my girls and my husband, it is really what keeps me going. Our girls have the house constantly hopping with their friends, it keeps you young and I think we have a great relationship because I have always dedicated much of my free time to them.
What is the best advice you ever received?: I have received a lot of advice over the years from a wide variety of sources but I think the best advice I have received was to always have a rainy day fund, something to fall back on when times are hard. When the market was slow that enabled us to survive and I think a renewed emphasis on savings for families in the United States is happening due to the economic conditions.
If you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be?: I don�t have an answer to this question yet because I haven�t really traveled enough of the world just yet. I do know that I feel really at home in Hawaii, I just really love it there, I could go and visit every year and for long periods of time. One of my long range goals is to own a condominium there as a rental and a place to relax and put my feet up.
