What year did you become a real estate agent?
2003
How many years have you been in Real Estate?
Coming up on my Fifth year. Now when I say I'm just shy of 10 years, I'm only half way away!
What is the average home price in your market?
225,000
Are there any new developments or trends in your area?
Unfortunately, There have been many foreclosures which have driven a lot of good people from their homes. Job loss also seems to be a large culprit of causing this as well. Luckily, we are a pretty stable area so home values really have not declined too drastically over the long run.
Why do you enjoy being a real estate agent?
I enjoy helping counsel people to choose the best decision for them. It is great when you can help them discover what they truly want.
What is the most challenging issue you face as a Real Estate Professional?
I think that the most challenging issue at the moment is the declining values. It has really put a scare into both Home Buyers and Sellers. Realistically, this makes it tough to find the truly motivated sometimes.
Tell us one of your client success stories or an interesting moment in your profession.
One of my favorites was when I helped some folks who had turned down my help 3 times before. They kept listing their home with other agents who simply wanted the listing. Once it was my turn to help them, I was able to get them through a short sale on their home so that they could move on with their lives and focus on the needs of one of their children who had been facing a number of medical issues. It was a great feeling to help them move past a tough time in their life so they could focus on what matters most.
What is your best characteristic?
Understanding the needs of my clients. This is achieved by really listening to what they say, asking the right questions, and helping them target what they want!
Who or what inspires you the most?
My Family. The thought of creating a career worth having so that I can enjoy time with them is what keeps me pushing through, even in the tough times.
What is the best advice you ever received?
Never want it more than the client! In the end, it is the Buyer who needs to buy and the Seller that needs to sell. We are simply here to facilitate that transaction and to get them from Point A to Point B.
If you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be?
As much as I love Greater Cleveland and Northeast Ohio, I would head back to South Carolina. I visited there for about 2 years and really enjoyed the hospitality of the South. Of course, I would need my family to move there with me...all of them on both my wife's side and my side.
