MD buy a previous house with Lisa A Nishwitz and would not recommend them to other home buyers.
I presided over a purchase in August 2009 in which Ms. Nishwitz was the purchaser's agent. As a Notary Signing Agent, not a settlement agent, my duties consist of explaining how documents must be signed, collecting signature(s) and administering oaths as appropriate. Apparently Ms. Nishwitz didn't like the fact that I was not a settlement agent who could not "explain" the docs, as I explained to her I am not authorized by Law. Ms. Nishwitz had several snide comments regarding the situation, called it unacceptable and made it quite clear that she would be contacting the Title Officer to inform her of her displeasure. Additionally, after I finished giving the borrower his oath, she proceeded to laugh and stated "now that was worth coming for." Let me just reiterate that all of this was in front of the customer, his fiance, and another realtor. I was stunned and without words! I have since lost what was a new client for me though I've presided over many purchases without issue.
se buy a previous house with Richard Herbst and would not recommend them to other home buyers.
Prior to signing with Marc and Richard Herbst we asked what recourse we had if their service did not meet our expectations. We were assured that we'd have no trouble getting out of our agreement if such proved to be the case. They had our listing for three full months and failed to produce a single listing, so we requested a release and were given the impression that it had been granted. When we listed with another realtor, Richard told us we had not been released and insisted we pay him $500 to get out of our contract, despite the fact that no such stipulation was included in our signed agreement.
