The homes that are selling are REOs (foreclosures/bank-owned) and motivated sellers. Now the new home communities are reducing their prices to match REOs.
Why do you enjoy being a real estate agent?
It's my passion. I enjoy being a detective, finding the right home for the right person, then getting all the pieces to fit for a successful transaction.
What is the most challenging issue you face as a Real Estate Professional?
Hearing stories about buyers and sellers who accept the status quo from other Realtors. In our current market, many agents are leaving the industry but there are still many folks getting "stuck" with the wrong agent. Like anything else, if you don't feel you're being treated like a king (or a queen), it's time to change your representation.
Tell us one of your client success stories or an interesting moment in your profession.
I've been fortunate enough to have many success stories. They mostly surround families who never thought they could own a home and helping them achieve that dream.
What is your best characteristic?
Listening, patience and understanding. (That counts as one, right?)
Who or what inspires you the most?
The challenges that people face every day, especially in 2009. I'm inspired to do whatever I can to help them, either with a short sale, understanding their financial options or making a deal work so they can become homeowners. It's also gratifying to help get a home sold so they can move on with their lives.
What is the best advice you ever received?
Listen twice as much as you talk, and you'll learn everything you need to know.
If you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be?
Las Vegas. I'm born and raised in NY, spent years in Los Angeles and Seattle, but Las Vegas is home. The quality of life is the best (surprising, huh?)
