What year did you become a real estate agent?
1976
How many years have you been in Real Estate?
Since 1976. I sold my first house in July of that year for $42,000.
What is the average home price in your market?
Approximately $450,000. My average single family home price in '06 was approximately $1,700,000.
Are there any new developments or trends in your area?
Our market is solid in spite of challenges in the national residential real estate market. Our prices are pretty stable in most sub-markets.
Why do you enjoy being a real estate agent?
I work with a great clientele; assisting them in buying and selling great properties. I live exactly where I want to live..in beautiful Santa Fe, and do exactly what I really enjoy doing.
What is the most challenging issue you face as a Real Estate Professional?
Keeping up with a very complex and ever-changing real estate market. Pricing properties accurately is very challenging, as Santa Fe is a very "boutique" type of market, where most properties are very "custom" by nature, making the evaluation of each property very difficult.
Tell us one of your client success stories or an interesting moment in your profession.
In 2006 I sold the most expensive single family home sold in the history of New Mexico. I worked with both the seller and buyer, who are two of the most impressive people I have ever met. It was an honor being so significantly involved in such a landmark transaction.
What is your best characteristic?
I set very high standards for myself and my staff and everything we do reflects this.
Who or what inspires you the most?
Doing well for my clients and customers and having them tell me that they have never worked with a better real estate broker.
What is the best advice you ever received?
A brilliant man once told me that the definition of "selling" is telling the truth attractively.
I thank my father for this often.
If you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be?
Where I am now.........Santa Fe.
"I love listing homes! The marketing aspect is fun, and negotiating is always the highlight. In regards to the buying aspect, the greatest joy comes..."
