What year did you become a real estate agent?
2003
How many years have you been in Real Estate?
4
What is the average home price in your market?
$500,000
Are there any new developments or trends in your area?
The Real Estate market has been in transition from a seller's market to a buyer's market for most of 2006 and the early part of 2007. It appears that the market correction is essentially behind us and we should return to a more stable market for the rest of the year.
Why do you enjoy being a real estate agent?
I love having the opportunity to help clients achieve their goals, whether it's selling, buying, investing, downsizing or anything in between.
What is the most challenging issue you face as a Real Estate Professional?
The most diffictult challenge as a Real Estate professional is getting the message out to the general public that we agents are not all alike. It's no longer about simply "showing up" and using smooth "scripts and dialogues". Today's agent must be able to utilize the power of the internet as part of their arsenal, in order to bring about the best possible results for their clients.
Tell us one of your client success stories or an interesting moment in your profession.
Recently I contacted a young couple who had a terrible experience trying to get their condo sold and trade up. They tried the FSBO route, then listed with a discount broker - anything to save commission. The condo sat for over 7 months and they lost the home they wanted to buy. We were able to put a marketing plan using some high tech tools and obtain an acceptable offer, at a substantially higher price, within one week.
What is your best characteristic?
Modesty prevents me from saying too much.
Who or what inspires you the most?
A hard question. Probably my wife and two sons. Without them I'd have to search hard for a reason to get up in the morning.
What is the best advice you ever received?
The Realtor who helped us find our first home, Jack Fineman, told me not to buy a house as if you're buying it, but rather as if you're selling it. It sounds strange, but after a bit of explanation, it made perfect sense. Call me and I'll tell you about it.
If you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be?
New Zealand
