What year did you become a real estate agent?
The agent has not answered this question.
How many years have you been in Real Estate?
Wioth a background in advertising promotion, I have been an active member of the real estate communi
What is the average home price in your market?
The average orice for a home in our market is around 200K. In some of the smaller surrounding commu
Are there any new developments or trends in your area?
The baby boomers are definitely making an impact in our area. Winston-Salem was voted the number 2 retirement area in the US. This is based on cost of living, available high level medical facilities, moderate weather and recreational activites. I live on High Rock Lake and buyers from all over the country are coming here to retire. The Triad area has major interstates within easy access.
Why do you enjoy being a real estate agent?
This profession is one where you will never ever be bored. I meet with interesting people from all over the country and the world. I enjoy this aspect of global family...we are all one and let's enjoy our differences too. Whether I am helping a first time buyer or a seasoned investor seller, I am determined to do the best for my client.
What is the most challenging issue you face as a Real Estate Professional?
The ever changing market is our biggest challenge. Trying to price the property correctly to sell and yet get the seller the best price, and for the buyer may he get a property that is also a good value for the area he is buying.
Tell us one of your client success stories or an interesting moment in your profession.
One of my best stories is I had a customer whose home I listed for 40K more than several agents were going to list for her. She sold very close to the listing price. I helped her pack her home...we were down to the line, and also sold her a new home. She went to real estate school and is now an agent for my company. This to me is a wonderful compliment to gain a friend and agent from a real estate transaction.
What is your best characteristic?
For a buyer I hope that LISTENING is the very best characteristic an agent can have. Now the buyer may change his mind but at least I want to know what is important to him in finding the right property. Give the buyer property choices and guidance regarding the market and area so he can make intelligent real estate decisions.
Who or what inspires you the most?
People who can constantly find the best in a person or a situation. I have a good friend and he is a true inspiration with his positive attitude of everyone around him. So when someone is having a bad day, give them the benefit of the doubt.
What is the best advice you ever received?
The question, Will this matter in a week, a year or in ten years?? This helps put a "perceived" problem in perspective. And truly excellent advice is to treat everyone no matter the appearance, the same.
If you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be?
I'm originally from Iowa and have lived in Massachussetts, Minnesota and travelled throughout this country and a few others. Where we live on High Rock lake is a beautiful site, and we live in a home I designed. At this monent in my life, this is where I want to be...even though my son and grandchildren are in Dallas, the romance of Paris, and the warmth of Cancun beckon me every once in awhile.
