Why do you enjoy being a real estate agent?
I love it! If you would have ask me 12+ years ago if I would go into sales ... I would have given you a no bones about it NO. My background is marketing and accounting... but I have discovered that real estate is not sales, It is customer service. It is meeting the needs and expectations of others to the best of your ability. It is taking your job seriously and proudly. Safeguarding and advising families as if they were your own.
What is the most challenging issue you face as a Real Estate Professional?
Time, time, time. There just is never enough time or daylight hours to do everything that I want to do each day.
Tell us one of your client success stories or an interesting moment in your profession.
I have had many success stories over the years but one always stays in my mind because it was my first year in real estate. As a new real estate agent building a client base can be difficult starting out. Sometimes I would drive about just to get familiar with the neighborhoods. One day I met a gentleman in Richlands who had his house up for sale by owner. He was out mowing his yard so I stopped to talk with him. I ask what he was asking for his home. It was way underpriced in my opinion. This I knew even though it was my first year as a Realtor. To make a long story short ... he listed his home with me, I sold it for $40,000 more than he was asking for it. Our deal was if I could make him more money, even paying a commission, then he owed me a bottle of Dom. We have been friends ever since that time and yes I got my bottle of Dom. It is displayed in my home unopened and waiting for a very special occasion.
What is your best characteristic?
I love to laugh and to see others laugh. I enjoy helping others in all ways not just in real estate. I am very business minded and have creative thinking. I think this allows me to think outside of the box for marketing, negotiating, and strategizing. I like playing Stratego & Chess too !
Who or what inspires you the most?
My husband was always my inspiration and my biggest fan & supporter in everything I set out to do. Now my children & grandchildren are my inspiration.
What is the best advice you ever received?
Listen. Always listen. The lord gave me large ears for a reason and that is to listen with.
If you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be?
Please what a question! I would have to live right here. This is where all of my children and grandchildren live. I couldn't see moving too far away from any of them.
