Why do you enjoy being a real estate agent?
I truly enjoy meeting new people, and welcoming them to my home in the Carolinas. I am fortunate to have chosen a profession which suits my personality...making friends, making them feel at home, and finding them a GREAT place to live. I take their needs and wants in a dream home, very seriously. It makes for a fun adventure, and a wonderful move. I love making that transition go smoothly. I get to shine! Everyone wins!! Dreams CAN come true!
What is the most challenging issue you face as a Real Estate Professional?
I own a fairly small company, with hand-chosen agents...6 at the moment. I want to grow and grow, but I never want us to lose that personal touch that we have with our clients...so it is challenging to think big and still treat people like we would want our own families treated, were the roles reversed.
Tell us one of your client success stories or an interesting moment in your profession.
I had a friend who did ballroom dancing with one of the groups here in Charlotte. She called and referred me an 84 year old dancing female friend, who was living in an elderly care/retirement community, and wanted out. The other residents made her "feel old". She said, "Cheryl, get me out of here. If I stay here, I will be old too, and I'll die sooner." So we found her a great place to live, though it was quite a challenge to find...security, yet community with privacy. It worked out well, but did take a considerable amount of time to find "just the right place".
