Recent Sale in Durham NC
My wife and I were unable to sell our home in 2009 using another real estate company and agent and when it came to attempting a sale again in 2010 we are very thankfull that we chose Barry. He was instrumental in the sale of the property and was amazingly helpfull in in guiding me through the process. During this entire period we have never met face to face with Barry as we are currently living in Rochester NY and the property is located in Durham NC. I will always be appreciative of his hard work and would reccomend him to anyone who has doubts.
excellent help with buying and selling a home
We have used Barry as our agent on 3 transactions in the past 3 years. As our selling agent, he created a listing that made me want to buy our house all over again! House sold in 6 weeks for a good price, even in the housing slump. As our buying agent, he was an effective negotiator, helping us to get a fantastic house at an excellent price. Stayed on top of things through the tedious process of closing. Would (and have) recommended him to closest friends.
The Best of the Best!!!!
When you want the best Realtor, I would suggest Barry Slobin. This was the most difficult sale I have ever had on a property, but I have to say that Barry was Exceptional. Always there when we needed him with support and encouragement. He was our second realtor on this particular property because we just got to frustrated with the first one, and to think he did this all for his small One Percent of the sale. Barry Slobin was the best realtor we have ever had, and also the least expensive. I guess it was the times, it's just difficult to sell a house in a recession/depression, but Barry did it and he also kept us laughing. Always calm and helpful, even when we had another realtor in a different state where we were buying a house, Barry helped us understand some things when our realtor was Useless. Never complaining, always there went we needed him. If you want the best, Call Barry. We can't say enough good about him. The downside? There is none. Allan & Aleksandra Alexander

Excellent Realtor
Great realtor, personable, knowledgeable. Have used him in one buy and 3 sell transactions. Barry is realistic, and just casual enough (does not try to force exclusivity agreements down your throat, like most realtors). He gets job done in an efficient manner. He listens to his clients, (again, something most realtors simply don't know how to do). I have worked with over half a dozen realtors in the area, and Barry is the best I have worked with.
Unresponsive, selfish agent
Barry gave a good first impression but steadily, increasingly exposed his lack of caring for me and for getting me the most money for my house. When the buyer made his list of repair requests, for instance, Barry insisted that I make them all. I new that my house was a deal and refused, thus saving myself thousands of dollars. Barry didn't show up to the closing and failed to communicate with me in a timely manner.
