Hmmm, I'll make this simple. Liz was the listing agent on a home that had been on the market over 500 days. (almost a year with listing, and six months previously with another agent). An offer was made on a Friday afternoon, and 48 hours was given for a response. A VERBAL counter was made Saturday morning. However, Liz told us the owners would not have access to a fax machine until Monday morning so did we mind waiting for their written response. Foolishly, we waited. The response did not come to our agent until late Tuesday morning, with a 5:00pm deadline, that evening!! Needless to say, that was BS, as we had extended our time to accomodate the buyers (????). Within two days their counter, which we were unable to repsond to, TWO additonal offers were made on the house, by two different parties. Seems quite conincidental. Almost as if someone had intentionally "delayed" a response as to await additional offers.
