"Ricquel is wonderful to work with! I buy rental homes in Springfield and she always makes sure I know about the best deals. I think I've bought 8 or 9 houses from her over the last few years, and she sold another home for me. She is extremely organized and works very hard. I never have to go by her office to sign anything, she always comes to me. I would recommend her to anyone!"
What year did you become a real estate agent?
2001
How many years have you been in Real Estate?
I've been a Realtor since 2001.
What is the average home price in your market?
The average home price in the Springfield area is close to $150,000.
Are there any new developments or trends in your area?
The best thing about the Springfield area Real Estate market is that we're shielded from a lot of the crazy market fluctuations found throughout the rest of the country. They may eventually hit us, but never as hard.
Why do you enjoy being a real estate agent?
I love being a Realtor for so many reasons! I enjoy meeting new people, touring amazing homes, creating my own marketing - and I never have the same day twice!
What is the most challenging issue you face as a Real Estate Professional?
Getting new leads without making cold calls. I simply refuse to do it. I've managed to set up a great website that provides a lot of useful information and allows people to search for homes online, download tips for saving money and read wonderful articles on home improvement. Because of that, I get a lot of people that call me when they're ready to buy or sell.
Tell us one of your client success stories or an interesting moment in your profession.
The most interesting moment in my career happened when I was out showing property to some clients. I had spoken to the man that owned the home to let him know when we would be there. We arrived at the house and rang the doorbell. Their little boy let us in and we started to go through the house. A few minutes later a lady came running out of the bathroom in a towel, looking mortified! I guess her husband was at work and hadn't told her about our visit AND she didn't know her little boy had let us in! We went back outside and waited for her to get dressed before continuing our tour of the home...
What is your best characteristic?
My best characteristic is that I'm super-easy to get along with! I try to provide potential clients with great information and tools to help them find what they want, and I'm very patient. No high pressure sales tactics from me!
Who or what inspires you the most?
A lot of the agents in our office are single moms. They inspire me! The manage to work like crazy and still be great parents. It amazes me that they make time for everything.
What is the best advice you ever received?
Some people spend their whole lives looking for happiness. Others create it! To me, that means that you get to decide how you deal with bad situations. Your moood is in your hands.
If you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be?
Anywhere warm near the water. I love those homes that just kind of extend out onto their back patio. No doors or windows, just open in the back. I don't think you could get away with that in Missouri, too many bugs!
"Every day is different, every client is different and many of my clients are still in my life. I love to run into them and hear how happy they are in..."
