My home built by Mayer Homes was dirt back filled with out basement re- enforcement. Resulting in 7 leaking cracks. Mayer rushes the process before the concrete cures. They back filled the dirt one day after the bsmt. was poured. My observation of the houses in our subdivision show many cracks. The Mayer model homes all have these cracks covered by epoxy. A warning to buyers Mayer display homes are as is. If you notice quality issues after moving in you are on your own. Read the all of the contract. If you litigate you agree to a judge not jury trial and that you pay all of Mayer's legal and attorneys fees. Regardless of the outcome. If you win Mayer will appeal as many times to win in thier favor. Be cautious you won't get your legal fees out of the sale out of your home. Just try to sell a house with a cracked up basement.
