What year did you become a real estate agent?
1999
How many years have you been in Real Estate?
10 years
What is the average home price in your market?
The average is right around $350,000 but varies greatly from multi-million dollar homes to $150,000
Are there any new developments or trends in your area?
We focus on the areas within a 30 minute commute of Fort Meade and NSA where real estate is pretty popular year round. BRAC is beginning to affect the area and we're also seeing a big surge in 1st time home buyers who want to take advantage of the $8,000 tax credit, low interest rates and low prices.
Why do you enjoy being a real estate agent?
It's just my calling. This is what I was meant to do and I love it.
What is the most challenging issue you face as a Real Estate Professional?
In August 2009 we're starting to feel the effects of more stringent loan requirements, mostly paperwork and primarily on condo properties. We're also beginning to see appraisers challenging values more frequently.
Tell us one of your client success stories or an interesting moment in your profession.
I'd like to think they are all success stories. Ultimately our clients become part of the family. Probably the most satisfying is working with first time home buyers and sellers and making the process easy and fun for them.
What is your best characteristic?
Just one? I'm organized, detailed and a very "real" person. And of course I love what I do!
Who or what inspires you the most?
Doing it right EVERY time and understanding and appreciating the fact that my clients have chosen me to handle the sale or purchase of what is likely their largest investment/asset. I take that privilege very seriously.
What is the best advice you ever received?
I have been so fortunate to work with so many great and influential people in my career it is hard to choose. But I'd say..."people won't care how much you know until they know how much you care".
If you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be?
Based on my travels to date, I'd probably be in the FLA Keys in a waterfront bungalow with quick access to great fishing and snorkeling. But I'd love to live for a month in New York City just to see what city living is all about.
