Show Interview

What year did you become a real estate agent?
2004
How many years have you been in Real Estate?
I have been in Real Estate for four years.
What is the average home price in your market?
I service several very different real estate markets, and the median price range varies from $325 -
Are there any new developments or trends in your area?
After the market correction of 2006, the focus remains on accurate pricing to assist clients with realistic expectations of selling their home. Low interest rates prevail, and buyer traffic is slow, but consistent.
Why do you enjoy being a real estate agent?
I enjoy the client interaction, and changing scenery of Real Estate. I tend to cultivate a healthy relationship with a client, buyer or seller, to have a firm understading of their goals. I set out to exceed all expectations, and develop a lifelong business relationship, and more often than not, a friendship as well.
What is the most challenging issue you face as a Real Estate Professional?
I focus on learning something from every transaction. The real estate world has changed considerably over the course of the last five years. What worked then may not work now. I feel that staying on top of changing trends, embracing technology and keeping the focus on the client seperates me from my competition.
Tell us one of your client success stories or an interesting moment in your profession.
One of my first transactions was the sale of a condominium for a friends sister. I made the call, and after providing the market analysis, the client decided to list with an "established" local agent. The listing expired, and I received the call. I was anxious to prove myself, and ended up selling the unit in three months to my own buyer. I took a listing from a client that I met at the open house, and sold that unit in one week! I went on to assist my original client in the purchase of her new home. I stay in touch, and have received several referrals from a very satisfied former client and friend. This was my welcome to real estate!
What is your best characteristic?
I would say that my honesty and energy set me aside from the competition. I say it like it is, and I am always on the move. Having an upbeat attitude, and genuine love for the biz. This exuberance shows my clients that noone will work harder to help them acheive their goals in real estate.
Who or what inspires you the most?
I am inspired by the fact that I work in an area saturated with realtors. This keeps me sharp, and drives me to set myself aside from my competition, and stay on top of new developments in the industry. I am also inspired by my wife. She is extremely motivated in her business as well, and provides a healthy dose of competition and a great environment for growth in our chosen professions.
What is the best advice you ever received?
The best advice that I ever received was from my current broker and owner of my company. Many view real estate as "easy money" and expect to answer the phone, and collect a check. Realistically, when first starting out, to make 40 hour a week money in real estate, you will need to work 60 hours! I took this advice to heart, and continue to grow my business and client base.
If you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be?
I am a New Englander through and through. I can't see myself ever living anywhere else. I love the change of seasons, meandering country roads and salt air on the coast. There is no where else on earth that offers the blend of history, community and family afforded by life in New England. I love it here, and I think that relocating buyers will too!
