We as a buyer happened to go in one of the Open House arranged by Katherine Vicksell for one of her property listed in Newton MA area. At first look we like the property, we requested for second show of the house. On second show we put an offer with a deposit cheque and offer letter which stated clearly that either of the party can back out after reviewing property document and deposit will be refunded. When we backed out of the offer seller agent and seller ploted a plan for not signing the release letter and hence our $1000/- deposit is not returned back till now which is around a month has passed already after we signed release letter. As an buyer we I can't directly contact seller, therefore when we requested Katherine about the issue. She was not ready to speak on that first of all with my buyer agent. And on requesting again to disclose the matter she bluntly said that seller is not willing to sign the offer letter. As per law they cannot hold back our deposit and still keep their property for sale. But, still their property is in market and it seems they have already accepted another offer. So, my only worry is that if property is sold then it will be to hard to trace and get back my deposit.

Let me start by stating that she was not my agent rather the selling agent of a home I purchased. I've managed & sold property & I have NEVER dealt with anyone who was less professional. She made nonsensical demands and outrageous claims but didn't fulfill even the most basic tasks. We bent over backwards & met sellers timetable & still dealt with idle threats from her and attempts to obtain information directly from our lender without our consent. She was negligent in even the most basic tasks (picking up/dropping off contracts, she provided paperwork missing so many pages it was clear she hadn't even looked at it before forwarding, never took property off the market despite signed contract, forwarding email b/w her and her client on to outsiders, etc) At closing, not only couldn't she be bothered to pick up her own commission but she neglected to provide us or the lawyers the KEYS TO THE HOUSE! The sellers were delightful. Once we cut her out of communication, smooth sailing.
