What year did you become a real estate agent?
2002
How many years have you been in Real Estate?
6 years
What is the average home price in your market?
$177,000
Are there any new developments or trends in your area?
Since Hurricane Katrina, home owners insurance costs have risen dramatically. 2007 was the year of falling sales...in some West Bank areas, sales volume is down over 40%. The positive side of this is that home buyers have a staggering amount of choices in a new home.
Why do you enjoy being a real estate agent?
Houses! Helping someone find the perfect home is very rewarding. Also, executing a great marketing plan to sell someone's property is challenging, but lots of fun. I have moved to exclusive online advertising in 2007, and started a real estate blog at lisaheindel.wordpress.com in an attempt to keep West Bank residents up to date on the market in our area.
What is the most challenging issue you face as a Real Estate Professional?
Staying current with the rapid advances in technology.
Tell us one of your client success stories or an interesting moment in your profession.
When I first became an agent, I received a listing during my first month in business. WOW! I thought I was on such a roll. The house went under contract in less than 60 days, inspections went perfectly and the appraisal was set. The appraiser beat me to the property and called to ask "Does the tree come with the house?" During a strong thunderstorm the night before, a huge tree had fallen on the back of the house causing roof damage and totalling the carport! Fortunately, we were able to extend the closing, have the damages repaired and keep the contract alive. I have never taken a smooth transaction for granted since.
What is your best characteristic?
Honesty and sense of humor
Who or what inspires you the most?
My children - if only I could see the world the same way.
What is the best advice you ever received?
Ask yourself every day: is this the best use of my time? If not, move on and do something else!
If you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be?
On a beach, somewhere, anywhere
