Are there any new developments or trends in your area?
Yes, there are quite a few new subdivisions in the Alexandria/Pineville area including West Lakes, The Lake District, Bocage, West Pointe, and St. Andrews Links in Alexandria. In Pineville, we have Ocho Rios, Legacy Point, Woodlake, Shadow Creek Ranch, and Beau Chene.
Why do you enjoy being a real estate agent?
I like working with people of all different personalities. I came from a state government background, so my focus is providing quality real estate service. In fact, I've incorporated that into my mission statement--"to provide the best quality of real estate service for my clients as I would expect to receive."
What is the most challenging issue you face as a Real Estate Professional?
At the moment, it is maintaining a steady income. It's feast or famine. Last month, I had three closings, but this month there will be none.
Tell us one of your client success stories or an interesting moment in your profession.
I've had many successes, but the most interesting and scary was when I had an unstable individual with me who absolutely scared me to death. Fortunately, I stayed in contact with my husband by phone and let the guy hear me and also stayed in a populated area. He later went on to another agent who reported to me that he got out of his vehicle with a gun stuck in the front of his pants.
What is your best characteristic?
The ability to deal with different personality types is an ability I discovered and developed in my state government job as a staff training specialist.
Who or what inspires you the most?
God inspires me, and my faith is constantly developing. I also derive great satisfaction in helping people.
What is the best advice you ever received?
"Roll with the punches."
Use your advertising dollars for things with the longest shelf life.
If you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be?
In Louisiana, of course.
"I enjoy being a real estate agent because of the affect the over-all purchase / sale has over my client. This is a life changing moment and I happy..."
