Yes! We've seen the home prices come down slightly and continue to see this trend. In addition, the interest rates are at historic lows.
Why do you enjoy being a real estate agent?
This industry provides me with many opportunities to interact with people. Since I'm a "people person" this works out great. I also take pride in sharing my real estate knowledge with my clients.
What is the most challenging issue you face as a Real Estate Professional?
In these times of economic turmoil and all the negative news being thrown at us on a daily basis, I find it tough to stay optimistic about the future. However, I've found that turning off the tv helps a great deal.
Tell us one of your client success stories or an interesting moment in your profession.
I was acting as a Buyer Agent. The Buyers wanted to purchase a For Sale By Owner (FSBO). The Seller was asking $399,000 for the property. The Buyers were referred to me by a past client. They told me they really needed my help. You see, they had already contacted the Seller and were finding it extremely difficult to deal with her. After I spoke with the Seller and developed a rapport with her, I successfully negotiated the deal. The Seller agreed on a more appropriate price of $336,000. I was also successful in getting the Seller to agree to make several repairs. My clients told me later that they were so happy they hired a Buyer Agent. They were also overjoyed with the fact that I'd saved them $63,000. It was a very satisfying experience for me as well.
What is your best characteristic?
My tenacity. I discovered a long time ago that a person must be persistant if they hope to achieve their goals.
Who or what inspires you the most?
Being given a challenging task and coming up with a solution that'll get the job done right.
What is the best advice you ever received?
To trust my intuition. This applies not only to my impressions of others, but to any of lifes circumstances.
If you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be?
I've always dreamed of a really nice log home in the Colorado mountains. Somewhere like Estes Park or Steamboat Springs sounds great to me.
