What year did you become a real estate agent?
2003
How many years have you been in Real Estate?
4
What is the average home price in your market?
$215,904
Are there any new developments or trends in your area?
We continue to see a lot of buyers moving here from Chicago, looking for a lower cost of living, lower taxes, great schools and our friendly, small-town atmosphere. There has been a lot of recent commercial development to support the increased population--an IMAX theater, new shopping centers, restaurants and a new medical center is planned.
Why do you enjoy being a real estate agent?
Every situation is new and there's always something to learn.
What is the most challenging issue you face as a Real Estate Professional?
Keeping up with all there is to know! New laws relating to real estate and mortgages, issues with mold, radon, etc.
Tell us one of your client success stories or an interesting moment in your profession.
My very first listing was an old house built in 1823. I love old houses and it was interesting to learn its history. (My first listing client told me it had quite possibly been a brothel in its early days!) I ended up listing it, selling it and then selling it again when my buyers had to move out of state.
What is your best characteristic?
Patience
Who or what inspires you the most?
Optimists. I like the quote by Henry Ford, “Whether you think that you can, or that you can't, you are usually right.”
What is the best advice you ever received?
Do unto others as you would have them do to you... What comes around, goes around!
If you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be?
I have lived in several different cities over the course of my life and I have enjoyed aspects of each of them. I think where you live geographically is not as important as living in the present moment. I try to live in the present moment, but it's not always easy.
