Why do you enjoy being a real estate agent?
I absolutely love working with people and helping them with the purchase or sale of their home. I truly love going through homes and seeing the new trends and also seeing the trends of the past. I love house hunting. I used to go to open houses for fun. Now I can do it everyday.
What is the most challenging issue you face as a Real Estate Professional?
The hardest part in today's market it getting my clients to not listen to the media. We really need them to listen to what we are seeing in our exact location. We are in the trenches daily and keep up on our markets through lots of weekly training. When we list someones home or try to counsel a buyer on a purchase it is sometimes difficult to convince them that the numbers we are coming up with have been drawn from extensive information and personal daily involvment in the market. When this does not happen then usually a home will sit on the market for way too long or a buyer will lose the home they absolutely loved. Buyers and Sellers must really trust the agent they are working with and be willing to take their advice and use it accordingly.
Tell us one of your client success stories or an interesting moment in your profession.
I think I have alot of stories that are always the same theme with most of my clients. I have taken over many listings where their first agent did not do very much in the way of communicating or just all around help with the sale of the home. I usually hear within a week from these new clients that I have done more for them then their previous agent did during the whole entire listing. I hear the same with buyers. They seem to always have some horror story of their last experience buying a home. I get told that I am a breath of fresh air and that I go above and beyond their expectations.
What is your best characteristic?
I am told all the time that I am one of the only agents that they have ever worked with that is accessible. I pride my self in constant communication with my clients. I return phone calls and emails as soon as possible because I myself would expect the same service. I keep my clients updated at all times. When I work with a company or individual I expect to be treated professionally and as if I matter. I treat my clients the same way that I expect to be treated.
Who or what inspires you the most?
We have a team leader in our office that gives us up beat and also informative information to keep us going on a daily basis both mentally and educationally.
What is the best advice you ever received?
When the going gets tough, the tough get going. I am still here in this market when almost 30-40% of agents have left the business. I am in the top 2% of agents in this market and it is because I don't let the market rule me. I rule the market.
If you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be?
I would love to have a home on the beach somewhere warm. Doesn't everyone?! :)
