RPS buy a previous house with Margaret Placko and would not recommend them to other home buyers.
This case is a textbook example of what may happen if a non-circumvent agreement is NOT put in place when a private RE investor works with a Realtor on a foreclosing property. In early 2007, a desperate homeowner, mere weeks away from foreclosure, contacted my team. During the initial interview, Margaret Packo was present and stated that she was there to "protect" her client. Now, mind you, she had been unable to assist him up to this point- a sheriff sale date had been set and she had no buyer. Our team, acting in good faith, agreed to attempt to stop the foreclosure proceedings, while allowing Ms. Placko to remain on the team. We were successful in negotiating a short sale, and Ms, Placko was told that she may lower the price to 140K. She was then able to attract a buyer but proceeded to circumvent our team by hiring an attorney to finish up the deal. We attempted to reason with her as well as with her broker to no avail.
