It's funny, as time passes, you find your self outgrowing your space. We needed to find a bigger home and I remembered buying a home from Great Street Properties years back, so this time I figured I'd again, give them a shot. Well, not that buying anything is easy or always enjoyable when it comes to taking money out of your pocket. Times are rougher than I'd like it to be but we needed new home. Especially with that in mind, the shopping experience and most important the installation from transaction was smooth. We are again,happy customers. Enough so that I wanted to post a comment on Yelp. Some people have gripes not even based on the things being fair. Here's a report of a good buying experience, a great transaction, and no problems. More people should take the time to write about their positive experiences. We are glad we worked with Great Street. Actually the two kids are happiest.
Hesitant at first- Glad I tried it myself
I was a little hesitant at first, however am very satsifed with experience. Everyone that I dealt with was very professional and courteous. It seems like some others that left comments didn't offer enough and didn't get the property they wanted. It makes sense why they would be upset, but it seems like they probably went too far. You probably guessed it, we offered over list and got our new home. Thanks Great Street!

Everyone that works with Ab are jerks, total scam artists, and should be avoided at all costs. Abe has the most inflated personality I have ever come across. Couldn't be happier not working with them anymore.

Wow, just wow. The level of customer service is so far below a "bad" designation I just don't know what to say. Incompetence seems to be their motto. Rudeness is a way of life for them too. The fact that many people and banks trust these gus with large sums of money is flat out scary. Avoid at all costs.

Scam Artist. A Real Snake...BEWARE
I am a would-be first time home buyer. I placed a bid on a bank owned foreclosure listed by Abe. The asking price was 55,000, and I bid $60,000 cash. I did not get the house, so I assumed I was outbid by another buyer. When the home closed I checked to see how much it sold for, just to see how much I was outbid by. To my surprise, the home sold for $32,000, which was confusing because my CASH offer was higher. Then I noticed who bought the home...Abe himself. I tried contacting Abe to find out what happened, and no response. So Abe Ayoub Rabah listed the home, collected offers, and then somehow undercut me to buy the home for himself, presumably to resell at a profit. He probably didn't even show my offer to the bank. So thanks to Honest Abe, I am still renting, unable to buy a home even though I have a decent cash offer...while Abe gets richer. I'm sure this is against real estate ethics codes, if not illegal. After more research I found that many of the homes he lists end up being sold to his brother. Thanks, Abe!

Foreclosure Experts!
I am an investor who purchases 30 properties a month. Abe's office is the most competant REO office in town. The have a great process and the people are very friendly to deal with. Try dealing with any other office in Chicago and you will see what I am talking about. I have read the other reviews. Of course these people are upset, they have been displaced and they think that the agent is the decision maker. They don't know it is the bank and they are simply trying to shoot the messenger. What a shame. Abe is Great. Would use his office anytime.
Truly an INCREDIBLE AGENT
We have attempted to purchase several properties from several different agents. All of these so called "distressed asset specialists" are not really special. Until we met Abe. His office is professional and upfront. They educated us on the process of purchasing a foreclosed home. I am now happy to say that we have a beautiful home thanks to Abe and the Great Street team!

This agent and his robo-employees offer cash-for-keys to tenants in desperate situations by no fault of their own. After getting us to enter cash-for-keys negotiations through one of his employees, we were flat-out lied to and given misinformation for 3 months while our once-beautiful rental home literally caved in. We never saw a penny of cash-for-keys, and Abe Rabah's agency had our car illegally towed from our rental property. If you're thinking of dealing w/ Great Street Properties, I suggest you run in the opposite direction. Abe is a liar, and having been in the foreclosure business in the past, I can tell you that even his foundation is based on a series of lies and schemes.
Do not work with Abe
Do not work for this company if you have a heart! Abe is dishonest and he rewards a culture of lies in his office. He encourages his staff to "BS" to the banks that hire him and to flat out lie to the tenants he's evicting. His staff also mocks people who have just lost their homes. Do not quit your current job in order to take a job offer from this company--It won't last.
Very Professional and Well Informed
My husband and I purchase 2 properties a month; (lost my job and started a investing in real estate). We are so pleased when we see the listing is with Great Street because we know that we will get a fair shake and that the people not only know what they are talking about, but they answer the phones. By far the easiest and best office in town to work with. No sour grapes here!
Best REO Broker in town
I am not sure if some of these people have purchased REO's or not, but we are a real estate investment company and purchase 20 homes a month. Abe's office is the best REO office in town to deal with. They have a process in place and our responsive. What some people don't understand is that REO offices are at the mercy of the banks.

This is by far the most clueless real estate office in the Chicago area. Imagine the people at the desk of the Post Office selling real estate. These people make government workers look knowledgeable.
Scam Artist, offers cash for keys to foreclosures
This guy is the worst of the worst out there dealing mainly with stressed out people in foreclosure he will offer you cash payments to get you stimulated to move without a hassle and leave your home complete. Be aware he will have you fill out official tax forms and promise you that you will be presented a check on a specific day if you are in fact moved out and the home looks good... Beware he will not return your calls and will confirm with the neighbors that you have moved and then will come and change the locks in the darkness of night. He is a true scam artist preying upon the already troubled. Don't believe a word he says and stay in your home (you will have another 6-8 months while they process additional judicial and Sheriff paperwork) to save money and make other living plans. SAVE MONEY AND STAY until the Sheriff comes and presents you with a 30 day notice. Good luck in not dealing with him.

If it were not for Abe we probably would not have closed on this house, nor would we have been able to close in less than 45 days. Abe is the best agent with whom I have ever worked. I don't know why the people on here are complaining so much. Our transaction with Abe was flawless.

Taking care of foreclosed units
Abe Rabah has been trying to sell the foreclosed condo unit 1 floor up from mine. When their empty unit developed a water leak they said a plumber was on his way to fix it. I don't know if they got the worst plumber in the world but now it's 3 weeks later and I still have angry renters complaining about water coming out of their kitchen ceiling.
DISHONEST
Do not enter into an transaction with this broker. He refuses to return our earnest money despite the fact that he has closed on the property over a month ago. Beware of him. You will be sorry if you buy from one of his clients.
