- Why do you enjoy being a real estate agent?
- I am passionate about real estate and each client that I am lucky enough to work with gets a full 150% effort. I work tirelessly until the job is done and my client has 100% satisfaction.
- What is the most challenging issue you face as a Real Estate Professional?
- In today's market, meeting the expectations of sellers is probably the toughest thing. The market offers so many opportunites for buyers, that sellers need to be priced extremely sharply and their place needs to be in "model home" condition for showings. Sellers that understand that tend to be much more successful in getting their home sold in a shorter period of time.
- Tell us one of your client success stories or an interesting moment in your profession.
- Probably one of the most interesting stories was getting a call that the lower level of a foreclosure listing I had was flooding. I showed up and saw water half way up the lower level outside door. I got a plumber to show up miraculously at 11 at night. He came, turned on a pump and said he had to go to another job so I had to stay and watch the pump. He returned at 1:30 in the morning and after about another 45 minutes we determined the water was coming in quicker then his pump could handle. It was quite a night.
- What is your best characteristic?
- My sense of humor. I like to keep the mood light and happy. I understand that buying or selling real estate involves a lot of emotion, but channeled properly, that emotion can be a whole lot of fun. You have to go from the beginning to the end, so you may as well make it fun!
- Who or what inspires you the most?
- My Mom inspires me the most. She had raised my brother and I as a single parent by selling real estate for developers. She somehow figured out how to balance hard work and still had time to raise us properly, instilling good morals and values along the way.
- What is the best advice you ever received?
- "Don't chase the market". Learned this from the popular TV show Real Estate Intervention. It is true, many sellers think they should "test" the market at a higher price for 30 days or so and then decrease the price, check the traffic, and so on and so on. Statistics show that following that process actually nets you LESS money than starting at a lower price from the beginning.
- If you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be?
- Chicago, where I live now. I love the mix of four seasons, proximity to a beautiful lake and all the fabulous cultural activities that the third largest city in America has to offer.
