Realy patient, knew her neighborhoods & buildings

Loved working with her. I was somewhat of a high maintenance client but she never made me feel like I was. I think we looked at all of the 2 bedroom condos in River North and the Gold Coast! She was very patient with me, explained things very thoroughly and we finally found the perfect place! She never rushed me or made me feel like she had an agenda to just make a quick buck - very professional! She made me feel like I knew her forever and I was very comfortable around her.

Really knew what I was looking for

I came across Lauren when viewing one of her listings because the price was right. It didn't end up being what I wanted but she was very proactive and asked what types of condos I was interested in. I was working with another agent at the time, and she didn't know it, and the types of condos that Lauren showed me over the other agent were hands down the better properties. She really seemed to listen to what it was that I wanted and had a knack at finding exactly what it was that I was looking for. I would definitely suggest Lauren to anyone looking to buy a great deal in Chicago right now. She knows where to look and seems to know a lot of the other agents out there and has resources to find deals that others may not know about. Thanks again, Lauren!

Efficient & Timely Short Sale

I listed my investment property with Lauren as a short sale. She is extremely knowledgeable in short sales and therefore was able to set the buyer's expectations correctly. If she didn't inform the buyer's about the process of the short sale, who my lender was that we were negotiating with, then this deal would have never closed because what I've found is that very FEW agents in this city know much about short sales. She was great at keeping me informed on each stage of the short sale as well as the buyers. She single handedly was the reason my condo closed and was a successful short sale. Do NOT have an agent represent you that doesn't know a thing about a short sale or a foreclosure!

Chicago Condo

Lauren was instrumental in finding the perfect property for my needs as a professional needing a downtown residence. She is extremely knowledgeable of the market conditions and was very thorough in looking out for my best interests as a buyer. In addition, Lauren made it easy for me to find the right mortgage partner that understood the downtown market and my situation. She covered me from start to finish! I woud highly recommend her to anyone needing an expert on the ground to guide a purchase.

Lauren is the only advocate a buyer / seller needs. She was not only attentive to my needs and requests, but also to my surly management company. She has worked 5 deals for me since 2009, and every one has ended successfully. Her relationships with all lenders and banks definitely comes in handy. She has the knowledge of a whole team wrapped into her head. Lauren never has steered me wrong. I cannot say enough how hard she worked on my behalf. Great to work with - able to find really good deal

Lauren came referred to me from one of my friends that recently purchased from her. She helped my friends close on an "in-town" condo which was a short sale and they were impressed with her negotiating skills and ability to find them a really good deal. Since I was considering buying in the same building I figured she'd be great to help me find a really good deal. She was very knowledgeable about all of the buildings in River North and the Gold Coast, and which buildings had the best opportunities. After taking a look at a few I narrowed in on which building I wanted to be in. I ended up bidding on a couple of foreclosures and missed out on them. Throughout the process, Lauren let me know every day when a new condo popped up that I may like and that's the main reason I was able to ultimately end up with the condo I have now. She was always on top of her game with what correct value of a certain condo was, etc. She really helped me negotiate the best deal and I was extremely impressed with her work ethic and keeping me in the loop with everything. I highly recommend to anyone who's looking for a good deal in this market!

About $225,000 to $325,000 - although it depends on the neighborhood!
Why do you enjoy being a real estate agent?
I love being able to help people find exactly what they are looking for and watching them learn through the process of what it is that they are looking for, because it does change once they are educated on where the market is at. And also, I love being able to be the "nosey neighbor" and see the insides of some beautiful Chicago properties :)
What is the most challenging issue you face as a Real Estate Professional?
The misconceptions about the market. In Chicago, a certain "market" can be as narrow as a particular building, in a particular tier or as broad as an entire neighborhood. But the point is, some areas are still in high demand while others you can get a steal!
Tell us one of your client success stories or an interesting moment in your profession.
One couple in particular was a referral from a recent past client. They lived in Southern Illinois and weren't very familiar with the Chicago market. The building we narrowed in on had a couple of really good foreclosure opportunities but everytime one popped up on the market, it would go almost in an instant. I let my client's know that if they were going to get involved in this building that that was likely what was going to happen. They were hesitant at first because they weren't used to properties selling that quickly - afterall, we're in a "down" market, right? Well, they missed out on 2 properties and by the time I called them and told them another had popped up on the market, they asked me to take a look at it and if I thought they liked it, then they wanted to make an offer at the price I thought it would sell at. It was refreshing having clients that trusted me enough to buy something sight unseen, knowing that I knew exactly what they were looking for. They ended up being the winning bid and to this day I get e-mails or text messages from them when they're up in the city and enjoying their condo!
What is your best characteristic?
I think my ability to relate to my clients is one of my better assets. Once I get an idea of what exactly my clients are looking for, I'm great at spotting it and getting the great deals in my clients hands as quickly as possible - even if it's at midnight in the middle of the week ;)
Who or what inspires you the most?
I'm never satisfied with where I'm at. I'm always eager to take on more to challenge myself as much as possible. I love being able to learn something new from every experience.
What is the best advice you ever received?
There's no such thing as failure - if you didn't fail, you wouldn't have learned what NOT to do the next time. The most successful people in the world are some of the biggest "failures".
If you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be?
Oh this is tough...I am IN LOVE with Chicago, but the winters tend to get to me from time to time. If I could have Chicago's spring and summer all year long then that would be my ideal place. Otherwise, I'll take San Diego during the winter!
