Buying from long distance - so easy!
I connected with Michael after hours of online searching for realtors - I was living out of state. Michael and I initially communicated via email which was very easy and flexible. I was relocating back to Chicago and wasn't planning to buy for several months. Michael set up an online report, we communicated regularly and scheduled tours when I was back in town visiting. Michael was patient and flexible throughout the entire 9 month process. Michael also referred me to a great inspector and attorney to help close the deal. Most important of all - Michael listens to what you need and want. He was great to work with and made the home buying experience a pleasure.
Out of Towners
We started searching for properties in Chicago online. Michael responded via email, so we started working with him. Michael was very prompt, courteous and professional. Our calls and emails were responded to within minutes. We were never left hanging. We considered ourselves experienced, but we were new to the process in Chicago and Michael led us every step of the way. Michael referred us to an attorney, inspector, mortgage broker and movers, all of them performed at the same high level as Michael.
My first home
After all of the horror stories I've heard about buying property, I can say that I am truly blessed not to have experienced any of them. Not only did my first home purchase go better than I expected, I gained a great deal of knowledge about this industry thanks to my super agent, Michael Kaplan. Mike took the time to not only answer every question I had, but he gave the extra effort to make sure I understood the answers. As a business owner I look for those exact characteristics in a potential employee. There were times when I called mike with a question during non regular business hours, and he would make time for me even though in the background I could hear his son asking him to hurry so they can continue playing. Mike if you're reading this I apologize for interrupting those moments. As a father myself, I know just how meaningful they are to both you and your child. Out of state first time buyer . . .
I was a first time home buyer from out of state with very limited knowledge of the Chicagoland area. I randomly got Mike on the phone when I called about a property I saw online and I could not have been luckier. Between teaching me about the various Chicago neighborhoods, going well out of his way to pick me up at my hotel (on three separate occasions), taking me all over the city, and personally meeting me with his young son on a saturday morning to hand deliver my keys, Mike could not have been more professional or pleasant to deal with. I would highly recommend Mike to anyone who appreciates someone that does his or her job well. In the end you will enjoy the experience and probably end up considering him a friend as I know do.
Helped us buy first unit
Mike visited a place and sent us photos by email at our request, and also happily incurred a parking ticket while showing us some places. A year after the deal we are still satisfied and recommend him

Very Thorough!
We've used realtors in the past who would just show our home, and produce nothing. Michael was referred to us through a friend, and we were amazed about all the questions he asked us about the house, what we like about it, and why we picked the neighborhood. He presented a thorough analysis of how he got the price, and why it would sell at it. It sold in 1 week, and it was the 1st showing. He goes above and beyond the call of duty, and consider yourself luck that you're working with this guy!

Michael was superb. He was able to obtain 97% of our asking price. The property sold within three to four weeks of the listing. His real value was the advice he gave us on what cosmetic repairs and alterations we should make to the property before it was put on the market. I would strongly reccommend him to friends or family.
