What year did you become a real estate agent?
1988
How many years have you been in Real Estate?
I've been licensed since 1988, which will make it 20 years this year.
What is the average home price in your market?
Around $325,000
Are there any new developments or trends in your area?
Atlanta is growing by leaps and bounds still. There is new construction everywhere! Driving down Peachtree St. you see several cranes building highrise developements throughout the downtown, Midtown and Buckhead areas. The trend here is live, work and play communities whereby the homeowner does not have to travel far for any of their daily activities.
Why do you enjoy being a real estate agent?
I enjoy the look on my clients' faces when they have signed all the paperwork and have the keys in their hand! We've actually completed one of the most important transactions to happen in their lifetime and I am a part of that.
What is the most challenging issue you face as a Real Estate Professional?
This past year the challenge has been being able to find qualified buyers due to the many changes in the industry. The mortgage industry is volatile now and it is affecting the consumer tremendously and therefore the real estate industry.
Tell us one of your client success stories or an interesting moment in your profession.
I had a client who is a high profile client and this was going to be his first home. I took his father out to show him properties and after a few, with a little guidance, his father came to a decision. My client went under contract, his father and I picked out all his furnishings and we closed on the property, all without my client actually seeing or choosing any of it. When he finally walked in the door of his new home he ran around the house and said he loved it! He called me up at home and said it was just what he wanted. That's what being a good Realtor is all about!
What is your best characteristic?
Being able to adapt to whatever environment I am in and thereby making the people I am working with feel at ease.
Who or what inspires you the most?
My mother inspires me the most. She is a tremendous woman who raised my brother and myself by herself, in a time when it was very difficult to do so. She taught us that we can grow up to be anything we wanted to be.
What is the best advice you ever received?
There are peaks and valleys throughout life, be patient you'll make it through.
If you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be?
I love Atlanta! The cultural diversity is amazing... we have beautiful weather with all four seasons and none of them being too extreme. Well, maybe the summer might be. (smile) What more could you ask for?
