I rented a townhouse from Norm a while ago and right away we had major problems with the unit which Norman’s management admitted ‘should have been fixed before we moved in’. I had to constantly remind them to come over and fix these problems because they would never follow up on them. After we got settled in, we started to notice that the neighbors were very shady and we overheard one of them say that she was on probation and even witnessed a drug deal happen on their porch. When we brought this to Norm’s attention, he said that he would pull a background check on her. He never did this, and when the neighbors threatened us, refused to turn down loud music, and frequently slammed doors in the middle of the night, Norm wouldn’t let us out of our lease. He said the he wouldn’t take a financial hit because we were unhappy with the neighbors. Norm is one of the strictest landlords I have ever met and if you rent from him, know that he will hold you to every word in the lease contract!
