Mitch buy a previous house with Gail V Moynihan and would not recommend them to other home buyers.
I attempted to buy a house that was listed by Ms. Moynihan. I contacted her one day after the listing was put onto the market. She told me that she already had multiple offers, in-house, but the bank was not accepting any offers for 10 days. I emailed my contract offer to her on the 6th day. Ms. Moynihan repied immediately, stating that the bank had already accepted another offer. I eventually discovered that the property sold for less than what I was offering. I also discovered that Ms. Moynihan was recorded as the "selling agent", as well as the "listing agent", which entitled her to receive the full commission on the sale, and not have to split it with another agent. It's clear to me what occured here. There is a clear conflict of interest because Ms. Moynihan, as the listing agent, has the advantage of knowing what the competing offers are, allowing her to advise her own client on what they should offer. Ielling me that the bank was not accepting offers for 10 days, allowed her client to benefit without even having to offer more than me. Even if I had gotten my offer in sooner, I would have still been out-bid. My only recourse is to file a complaint with the real estate commission, which I fully intend to do. This type of behavior needs to be put to a stop.
