There is a review with my name on it dated 3-3-2009 I did not write! I suspect Mark wrote this review to rebutt the reviews which question his honesty and operating methods. Also, the review by Sid Shaf is suspect as being written by Mark as Sid Shafner is marks father and I doubt there is anyone named Sid Shaf. Mark assisted me in buying a rental property and then helped placed a tenant in it. three months later Mark had a vacancy in one of his units just down the road. He made arrangements to move the tenant out of my property and into his although he was well aware of a current lease. I became aware of the situation when the tenant didn't pay rent and my property was vacated without notice. The tenant assisted Mark in getting his property ready for her to move into by painting and cleaning the carpets. Mark acted immorally and illegally in this matter, and he knows it.

I was in Real Estate since 1978. I had the buyer that purchased Tom Martino's old home. I retired in 2000 to take care of my wife who has M.S. All that I have said is factual about Mark. he is being sued by a former client that he sold about 19 homes to. He can not be trusted. I have had no complaints by any of my seller's or buyers while selling real estate. The last full year in the business, I sold 64 homes and was #1 agent for the Prudential Legend Real Estate for 9 years in a row.

We have know Mark and Beth for 30 years. they have always treated us fair and represented out best interests. We don't understand what Berg, who has not had a real estate license since 2000, has against Mark, but he sounds like a sick man. You can deal with Mark and know that he has you covered

Mark Shafner- The investigative report concerning a complaint filed by Cary Zwern against Mark Shafner, License #EI 36601 was presented to the Commission with accompanying documentation and information supplied by Mr. Shafner. It was moved and seconded by the Commission that reasonable grounds exist to refer the respondent to hearing for violations of the real estate licensing law and to send this matter through the expedited settlement process (ESP). The staff was also directed to incorporate these specific terms into the Commission approved ESP stipulation to be sent to Mr. Shafner. a. Complaint alleges Colorado real estate broker Mark Shafner failed to establish written brokerage relationships with both the buyer and seller in two separate transactions; advertised a property for sale at a price other than that identified in the listing agreement, negotiated a contract for the sale of another property without a listing agreement in place and failed to maintain complete transaction files for a period of four years; and b. Mr. Shafner’s acts constitute a violation of 12-61-113(1)(n), 12-61- 113(1)(t), 12-61-113(1)(k), Commission Rules E-4, E-20 and E-35; and c. Mr. Shafner’s real estate broker’s license shall be suspended for a period of 30 days and continuing indefinitely until his fine is paid in full; and d. He shall pay a fine to the Commission in the amount of $12,500.

Mark, You have no right to use my name in a review because you know who I am. I am not your friend, I am always trying to stay away from you. You are a fake and a fraud. Trying to claim people who are your friends is telling me you have an unstable life and career. Mark gets calls from credit card companies at home on a daily basis for not paying any bills. He also says that he is letting his credit go to hell and is relying off of his wife's credit. Unbelievable how these two incompetent people work. Daughter Shannon and son Shawn have ruined credit due to these characters using them to buy houses and keeps them under their names. Mark, you can't keep this up forever....the IRS WILL GET YOU. Keep your kids out of your lifestyle you phony!

To all: I would like to state the truth on the status of Mark Shafner. He is a fraud and a ponzi that has been investigated over and over and is now again being looked into by the state of CO. How do I know this? I live on his same street. He tries to swindle his neighbors due to his poor credit conditions. He has back payments due on the association and is now being sued for non-payment. Additionally, he also is being sued by a former tenant for $500,000 because Mark foreclosed on one of his properties, resulting in his tenant being forced on the street. These are simply the facts folks. This guy is a sleezy realtor. To get the true facts, I suggest you google him and you will see several articles that the state has fined and suspended his license over the years. Mark, you need to find a career that fits your behavior and being a broker is not it; you lie to everyone including your family on your financial situation.

I don't understand how Cary can use my name as an unhappy client. I have been married to mark for 35 years and can honestly say he has written ALL the negative comments, blames us for his incompentency, and probably blames us for his many failed marriages. Using Dave Bergs name, another real estate agent, should alert people that Cary is not all there.

I have had the unpleasant experience of working with Mark Shafner as a Realtor several times over a 20 some years. He does not know how to do a straight deal if his life depends on it. He has moved people into my listing prior to closing without the owner's consent, told people that they should stop making payments on their listing and purchase their next home with a conventional loan. This was done in the late 80's when I turned him in to the FHA for fraud. There are many agents that will not use Mark because they do not trust him. I am retired now but by looking at the Real Estate Commission web site, I can see that Mark has not changed. If you see Mark Shafner, run the other way! Dave Berg davewberg@hotmail.com

I used Mark to sell my house in Parker, CO. I took a chance not knowing that he has a reputation that puts himself first and does not know what "in the best interest of clients" means. Mark wanted to overprice my house in a slumping housing market because he said I should trust him. Funny...my house was on the market through Mark for 9 months until I fired him and went with another agent who properly priced and sold my house in 43 days. After doing some research, Mark has had his license suspended in CO 13 times, once even having to pay a fee of $12,500 and had to retake ethics classes. I am asking everyone to stay away from him. Should you be contacted by him, PLEASE call the State of CO to find out first-hand what this low-life has done to honest people. He even told me that he puts his rental properties in his kids names to cheat on his taxes and said he can show me how if interested. The state is now looking into his illegal activities. Do not do business with him.

I recently had Mark help me buy a house. I have never experienced such a horrible way of treating people. To make a long story short, Mark lied to me about the price of the final bid (He actually didn't work in my best interest and made more money than what he was supposed to). He also tried to have me pay a higher percentage fee for him (9%). I have a large network of associates that knows Mark Shafner and his way of CHEATING people out of money and will be making everyone aware of his illegal actions. He probably is using honest people for money because he has all his "rental properties" that he is under water on with most in his children's name. The only thing he is doing is ruining their credit. I am going to be filing a complaint with the CO Housing Commission to have his license suspended, once again.

Don't understand the lies being told by Cary Z, a person who let 20 homes go into foreclosure and blames other people. This guy is going to jail for a long time. He inflates house prices, simply puts door molding over loose wire work and is not up to code, and has multiple houses in his wife and kids name to beat the tax man. BAD BAD BAD!

Mark Shafner has been censored, suspended, and fined several times for actions that are deemed illegal. This is truth that can be checked out by going to the Colorado Real Estate Commission web site. There is the truth. Mark will lie but the truth..........

The Real Estate commission suspended Mark for 30 days in 2008 and fined him $12,500 for illegal activities. Is this a Broker you want to work with? Why would a company hold onto such a bozo?

Mark is a shady Realtor who operates outside the law alot. He will have the buyers downpayment paid by the seller. The buyer will borrow the money from a family member or friend and then reimburse them after the closing. I have seen this several times. Mark is not to be trusted. Most experienced Realtors in Denver will not work with Mark.
